Fattest skis ever!!!!

i bet it would be a bitch if there was a tree 20 metres in front of you, you wouldn't be able to turn and you'd just plow into it.

Yeah but they never really brought them into production did they? Looks like you can straight up buy these, i thought my donners were fat thats just plain unnecessary

hahahahahaha that company makes mono skis fuck hahahaha. of course they would make a snowboard fat skis and try to sell that shit.

My Donner Party's are 140 underfoot, but they are reverse sidecut too. No point to make a ski that fat without reverse sidecut. No point to really make a ski over 120mm underfoot unless it has reverse sidecut.

yeah they were used as a marketing tool but the guy who rode them actually really liked them and wanted to have them produced, clearly liberty didn't follow

also pollard rode 160 prototypes a few years ago but they were so fat they didn't work for what he wanted, the ep pro was the fattest that was still good for what he wanted

There are 2 things those skis are good for-

1. heli skiing

2. Looking like a goober when you try to manuver elsewhere

177 is a big waist, yes.

Does it make it stupid, gay, or pointless? No. If you want a ski that will never ever ever dive and don't drop large cliffs where sinking in is useful, then these could be your skis. Don't knock them until you've tried them. And if someone wants to send me a pair, I'll do just that.

Just because I think my Hellbents are plenty fat does not mean that I should hate on what someone else is putting out there.

It is definitely bordering on pointless, because if they really wanted float they should make it reverse sidecut, and rockered, if it isn't already rockered.

I think it's pointless because powder skiing on those would be too easy. How much fun is it if skiing on powder is like skiing on a groomer because you sink down so much.

People have been skiing pow on normally cambered and non-rockered skis up until just a few seasons ago.

The SFB, a ski both you (if I am not mistaken) and I skied all last winter, is an example. I would certainly not call it pointless. The Durets have 67 mm at the waist on the Bacons, so my guess is that they float just fine.

I would again point out that neither one of us has actually skied them, so calling them "pointless" (or the opposite, the "most amazing ski I've ever been on OMG") is impossible for both of us, as we know only physical attributes, but not how they ski.

It's cool that they're progressing but that doesn't even look fun to ski. The handling probably isn't all that great either. The Libertys mention above, 203 is ridiculous that's and 8 inch underfoot exactly.

Hehe, the SFB is an inbetween ski, and sometimes I do think it is pointless, but it is fun and a great ski haha. It satisfy's a certain place in the quiver.

You do have a good point(s) though so it's all good.

look sweet if you just wanted to bomb it down with no thoughts of making the slightest turn. you could huck some nasty cliffs with those too.
