Fatal slide at the canyons

Yesterday a north facing aspect off the 9990 chair slid and buried a father and a child. the 11yr old survived but sadly his dad did not. Be careful with all this new snow guys. Dont ruin the holidays for yourself or your fam.

i saw this on the news yesterday. crazy. 9990 has some damn good terrain though.

it was inbounds! i skiied the same line pretty much a little before it happened. scary shit.

ya i guess there were rumors about the guy who set it off. supposedly he was bouncing along the ropeline or possibly poaching. but still i cant believe patrol didnt test or cut the slope on the other side of the rope. 2nd fatal slide inbounds in the us in a few years and the 2nd fatal one at the canyons in 4 years. wtf!

That's really unfortunate is happened in bounds, I wonder how that slipped from ski patrol checks?

they bonbed the hell out of the area and made ski cuts sometimes shit just happens I guess...makes me want to wear my beacon inbounds now...

that's the second death there this month, isnt it? i know the two are unrelated but from a resort standpoint, that is some seriously bad pr.

they were 8 days apart. im not goin skiin up there every 8th day now. haha
