Fat-ypus G butter or ON3P filthy rich?

Haha didn't notice that sorry you didn't find it informative or helpful. The filthy riches are the perfect park ski for those who like rockered skis. They have a great swing weight, super durable edge, and can butter for daaaaays

i have the frs and they are sick i cant speak for the g butters tho, i had this same dillema last year went with the frs and im happy

If you preffer a stiff ski than the g-butters aren't for you. Theyre great skis but theyre soooo soft. They still hold it down on bigger jumps and all but if you want stiff get the Filthy Riches

g butters soft? they arent super stiff or anything but definitely not soft compared to most skis. id say pretty mid-stiff

Ive had ar5's, invaders, kung fujas, silencers, older watch lifes, and g butters are the stiffest, silencers might be a tie. but either way, id consider watch lifes, ar5's the OG kung fujas to be mid flex skis, while invaders are definitely soft. going by that, g butters are definitely on the stiffer side.

Thanks guys btw I'm 5'9 160 and I'll be skiing 60 40 park/urban. And occasionally powder. I heard the g butters are on the stiffer side I did do research on both skis. I know they are both durable I want to experiment with rocker but I know I love full cambered skis already. Any more input?

I think the soft vs stiff debate is irrelevant in this thread, they're both about the same as far as flex goes. The more important thing to consider is Rocker vs Camber between these two skis. Coming off the Wall, they're fairly close in stiffness to the later constructs of the Volkl Wall (the 08/09 and 09/10 versions were MUCH stiffer than their predecessors, so if you have either of those models, then this statement isn't true), but what will make a difference is the pattern in which they flex and the rocker. G-butters (to me at least) are soft in the tip and tail, stiff underfoot, however have a slightly softer flex directly underfoot (only a few cms, but I felt like they had a little play in there...the ones I tried out were by no means new, so that might play into this part). The FRs are as far as natural flex goes a bit stiffer than the G-Butters, HOWEVER the massive amount of rocker will make them feel a bit softer. So like I said, they're fairly similar as far as flex goes.

Both skis are fun, like I said the biggest difference is the Rocker vs Camber between the two, so I think that should be more of your deciding factor. Do you want to stay with a cambered park ski? Do you want to try out rocker? (I really enjoy rocker in the park, and I like the surfy edge to edge feel I get when I carve them out...but that's just me). The FRs will have a slight edge in terms of durability (in my opinion, no ski can beat them in that regard, they're nuke proof, haha), but Fat-y-pus also puts out a pretty quality product. The FR will have more snap to it, so it'll be a bit more responsive (bamboo core is amazing when it comes to responding to what you put into it). So I'd consider those things instead of flex, personally.

Yeah as long as its not a noodle I'm ok with It. I went from the invaders to te silencers to the anthems and my most recent ski the suspect. Besides durability the suspect was the best out of all the other skis. It was light and had a really snappy responsive flex pattern and that's what I liked most about it. Your posts are always helpful thanks! I think I'm going to give rocker a shot then. See what all the buzz is about. Thanks!

No mistakes made with the G-Butter

Really playful ski, but as someone said, the ski holds its own on the big jumps. Great sidewall and edge construction as well. I've had my same pair for 2 years now and they're still holding it down.

You won't be disappointed with the g-butter
