"Fat" Skis? = Slow?

Just out of curiosity, what makes the Lizzies a better qualified park ski? I know the SFB is a little fatter and a little stiffer and has rocker but is there any other reason its his "fat park ski"?

Thanks for your insight!

they're eric polards ski designed for park. damn close to symetrical, short, kinda light, and super buttery. Think of it more as a powder skier's park ski. It also has a lower tip and tail profile and doesn't have the tip taper that the bacons do. I have the 2008/2009 SFB's that don't have rocker and they get around alright in park too but they seem a bit slower throwing around.

Huh that's odd it says Lizzie's are heavier. Anyway, so the primary differences are just that retreat nearly symmetrical so switch is easier and they're flexible? Hm. I know about directional skis.. and how screwed up they ride when mounted center.. say I were to throw schizos on a pair of SFBs (hold the flame I've had good luck with them SO FAR) and then could put em center for park and regular position for grooms and pow?

Sound plan? Assuming I do like them? Sorry for how annoying I am and I will def ride the Lizzie's, they said guaranteed theyll have a pair for me. I'm just afraid I'll like the SFB more from what I heard so I'm covering my options as safely as possible!

I'm pretty sure lizzies are lighter. Its alright to ask questions man. best to get this shit figured out before buying.

If the new bacons ski like the previous models they will be great at jumps and whatnot and get around decent on boxes and rails. The reason the Lizzies are being discontinued is because they're so similar to the bacons and polard started using them for park more. The bacons are also pretty damn close to symetric too. they have a bit of a longer turn radius and they're stiffer.

Now the schizo idea would be great on the bacons. i was actually going to do this myself for traveling to resorts. More back for powder and all mountain and more forward for park. If you have an oppurtunity to ride the lizzies and the bacons just find the ones you like best. if you only get to ride the lizzies then think of them as stiffer and a little bit wider.

Its hard to describe the differences between the two but its more of how they feel thing.

Couple things though. Are you planning on getting the 172 length SFB's or the 182's? and the 09/10 or 10/11?

Heh uh actually I'm gonna be mainly interested in the 172 10/11 SFB.. to tell you the truth mainly because I ride my little 62 waists at 161 cm (I swear to god they're NOT ski blades!) So actually the rocker and taper is appealing to me because on the rockered (with camber underfoot) skis I've been on they feel shorter than their length and that will help with my height/weight and how used I am to my old skis I think.

alright. I don't know too much about the new models unfortunately. Now if you're worried about the size of the lizzies compared to what you're used to don't be man. They're so easy to throw around no matter what size you are. i know a kid thats 5' 3 that kills on the lizzies.

Alright, thanks a lot man! You gave me a lot of info and when Hood gets some people this weekend I'll call and check if they'll have next years Line gear for demo!

Then I can compare them to the Extremes I rode and I'll be able to judge them in groomers and park performance

I have a pair of 1993 K2 55500, 2005 K2 Public Enemy's, 2009 Line Prophet 130's, and 2010 Armada JJ's. One ski quivers??! What?!? Just get a pair of that you'll be able to use for awhile and when your ready to buy another pair...just add them to your current lineup, before you know it you've got choices!! You seem unsure of what you want to ski...that by far is the choice you have to make! You know your ability and your riding level so buck up! I could talk about skis to you everyday but ultimately you have to make the choice on what you want and how much you want to pay. They're expensive but it's skiing and it's always been that way!

By the way this is pretty late, so what did you choose?

You should look into the K2 Kung Fujas, they are a good one ski quiver. They have a 102 waist and there are very soft all mountain ski. I think they sound like a good pair of skis for your criteria.
