Fat biking and skiing!

So this season I’m going to be combing the two. Ski tour up with the bike strapped on my back or vice versa. Is there any extra safety precautions I should take in terms of avalanches?

I guess depending on your strength, anything could be light enough. I think it’s more the size and shape of a bike on your back would be awkward. Could work though, try it and take video

This sounds very awkward... but it sounds like it could be the start of something new, and sounds like it could be a lot of fun once the snow has thinned , creation of bikes that can be disassembled and compacted in some way,

I'm new to skiing, I only skated last winter. But I used a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads to protect my bones at least minimally in the event of a fall. It hardly helps if an avalanche finds itself, but it will at least protect your bones a little. So I definitely recommend it, but I will also add again that I am still a beginner and I may be wrong.

It’s not that bad of an idea

Fat bikes have a ton of rolling resistance and heavy. Then you want to ski tour up?

Is this like a punishment or something?

I’m good with skiing down and rope tows or lifts, thanks.

The fatter wheels should be good for pow though. Hell I might modify the front and put a ski on it

It will be good for pow but kill you from exhaustion.

There are electric fat bikes that would be interesting.

What about electric touring skis with little tank tracks underneath them
