Fast Telemark/ Nordic mix ski

I've got a traditional telemark ski setup, with 3 pin bindings that ive been using for a couple years. I use them for solo days where im just exploring around the woods in pretty mellow terrain. but for the stuff im into its just not that capable. Its great on flat open terrain, but the second it gets very steep at all, theyre just too skinny. if i find a grandual slope in perfect light fresh show you can make some really fun turns with them. but if its heavy or rough at all its straight death.

Anyway, im looking for a new setup thats basically a super capable XC ski. so i can skate around the woods a little, but be able to get around tight turns, up steeper slopes, make some legit turns. etc.. and be comfortable for skating around for hours.

I know nothing about telemarking. I spend most my time in the resort or backcountry skiing with alpine bindings.

I was thinking like a 100 waist ski, with some rocker but maybe camber underfoot to use kicker wax? and get a set of skins too. For boots and bindings though i have no idea. Modern boots and bindings bring the price up a LOT, and im not sure how comfortable they'd be for skating. But I would like a good amount more support than my flimsy full fabric alpina boots give me. I dont need to be able to rip turns and ski anything that gnarly. but to be able to actually ski them in more mellow backcountry conditions would be nice.

Any suggestions?

not sure that the product you desire exists... I'd try posting this is Gear talk and maybe getting a few more views for it?

I got you...

Fischer Sbound 125. Theyre wide enough to float, have a decent amount of camber in them to give you a lot of boost when skating, and they have a proprietary skin to go with them. They have scales otherwise, so you could just ditch the skins a lot of the time. If you wanted something with less camber, and a little more alpine toury, get the Voile V6 BC. 100 underfoot backcountry AT ski with a pattern base. Sick.

Couple that with say, a Voile Switchback and youre set dude.

Then, for boots,... if you wanted something more substantial, you could search for a pair of used Scarpa T2s which are certainly on the touring side of the spectrum for telemark, and you have yourself a decent little setup there.

I for one have used a pair of the aformentioned V6s with some G3 Targa Ascent bindings and my very stiff Black Diamond telemark boots, and it was a super fun setup I must say... On mellow undulating terrain, having a pattern base is fucking awesome. especially with tele bindings that are super quick to switch back and forth between climb and ski modes.
