im startin to get chills thinkin about losing such a great place

i just want to throw out some names, i think, the true faces of baseball at it's best

Jeter

Bernie Williams

Paul O'neil

Rivera

Tino Martinez

its gonna be a rough sunday night. so many memories from growin up and watching games. i never made it there. and im not ok with that.

but im only 20, i cant imagine how hard its gonna be for the 50 and 60 year olds who have had family season tickets there for ages.

even being a something of a sox fan, i think it's gonna be sad to lose on of the last old stadiums in the mlb, just think of all the history that happened there. I made it there once to see the Sox kick the yankees ass a few years ago, and i must say that it was a great stadium with a nice atmosphere.

But for me it's going to be a very sad day when they tear down fenway, but that doesn't look like it's happening soon

for anyone who had been to the stadium its understandable. its so old school and in such a sketch part of NY. like 3 people from the crew I was with got mugged down there and we almost saw legit hood beef over selling hats on the wrong corner.

its gonna be really hard to see it go. im a die hard redsox fan, but i have a lot of respect for the yankees. they will always be my most feared opponent, more than the indians last year, or the rays this year. i too never went to the stadium, though i wish i could have. theres just so much history there. i have a lot of respect for yankees players too, jeter's career stats are unreal and rivera's arguably the best closer ever. im definitely gonna watch the yanks o's game tomorrow night over sunday night football, no question.

whats even worse is that they arent making the playoffs this year for the first time in like a trillion years. the playoffs arent the same without the yankees. theres no rivalry and it just feels so unnatural.

peace, yankee stadium, the house that ruth built, and so many memories. aaron bleepin boone.

fuck the yankees but holy shit there's so much history at that stadium. so much epic shit has been done on that field. I HATE the yankees but damn do i respect them.

obviously. fenway is a much cooler park. yankee stadium quite honestly is a shitty venue. but yankee stadium has a hell of a lot more history. and im not talkin just baseball.

ali fought there
unitas played there
3 popes have delivered sermons there
"win one for the gipper" was first recited there during one of many Notre Dame - Army games
Nelson Mandella made it his first stop after being released from prison

yankee stadium closing means much more than just losing a baseball stadium, it might as well be a national monument.
