i know this should go in media and arts but more people will see it here

I like 3 kinds of music metal/rock, punk and hip hop. for each of these three types of music there are immitators. For metal/rock there is is,slipknot,cold,puddle of mudd, stained and limp bizkit. none of these bands should be considered rock or metal. There music is terrible. for rap there is, 50 cent,ja rule ,all that mtv shit. Know when i say fuck rap i mean them because thier shit sucks . And for punk of course ,good charlotte,blink 182,sum 41 and everything else on mtv.

all of this music is fake and terrible. it should not be labeled hip hop or metal or punk. it is fake censored mtv shit

static z.primus,blackalicous,sex pistols,de la soul,soundgarden,pantera and slayer all great bands but mtv has never played one of there videos. people should here the real music not all this fake shit

most of the first bunch of bands/groups/artists you named do it for the commercial value. They ahve no real talent and do it simply for the money. I hate that.

A good band does it for the music. Ir espect groups who dont give a shit about what records they sell. Even if I don't personally like the music (Im not a big fan of rap etc) I can still respect them and support them simply because they aint arseholes who fuck up the music industry with their 'music'

well you're wrong about mtv never playing soundgarden, primus and static-x. i've seen their videos on mtv before!

Why are people obsessed with this? And what the fuck does MTV have to do with it in the slightest? If you like the music, listen to it. Otherwise, don't.

Yeah ATLANTA, you're right about a lot of pop-punk being very similar, but I'm a big fan of all of the bands you listen (except Strating Line), and they are definately not average bands. Just because there is a lot of average pop-punk doesn't mean there isn't good stuff too.
