Fake IDs, are they worth it?

I could get a reliable fake ID for $150, but I'm skeptical that this will be worth the money. I have no trouble getting alcohol while at college, and none of my friends go to bars so I don't either. The only real use I would have for it is to buy alcohol over the summer and during breaks, but my summer break is really long compared to other schools (a couple days over 4 months).

Can anybody who has bought a fake ID tell me if it would be worth it for me to get one?

I believe that thread was about finding a reputable seller. I already know a reputable seller. I'm just not sure if I want to spend the money on it.
 
just get one. trust me it will make your life so much easier when you're at home. no need to go to the sketch neighborhood or wait for that one chill dude outside the deli. they're a great investment
 
I never invested in a fake id because highschoolers don't need to go to bars and I knew about 10 people who had fakes or were of age that would hook me up no problem.

so no you dont need one really
 
do you really need alcohol so badly that you can't call up a friend who's 21 a few days before a party or whenever you need it?
 
you never really know till you get it, they all say they are good quality but till your holding it you dont know
 
1. Go to liquor store

2. Stand near the store but not right in front.

3. Wait for cool looking person.

4. Give money and simply booze instructions

5. Get buck wild.
 
I'm not talking about a bouncer, I'm talking about the police charging you for falsifying a government document. That's a felony.
 
Why you generally give the police your real ID. And if the bouncer or clerk says they are calling the cops you get out of there.
 
I really don't understand how your going to argue about this. People get in trouble sometimes for using fakes. End of discussion shut up.
 
that just isnt true though all they do is take it away, unless you try and use it as an actual driving license they don't care,
 
you really belive that don't you. You are using A fake government document in a public setting. If you use it to buy beer and your not of age, get into a bar and you are not of age or buy cigs and you are not of age. You can be charge with Possession of a fake ID Along with a bunch of other things. Get out if this thread.
 
Oh come on Pat lets be civil, I'm just saying going off of all my friends experiences with fakes that doesn't happen, the most I've seen is my Friend got a small fine for using her sisters ID, not a felony. The fact of the matter is it's too much trouble for a regular business to want to prosecute or even call the cops, so they generally just tell you to leave.
 
my friend got charged with having a fake last year and no, it's not a felony. He got like 6 months of probation and they took his real license away for that time. Getting caught with a fake is really not that huge of a deal and if you can get a good one and you look like you could conceivably be 21, there are almost no risks to it. The only reason my friend got caught was he got pulled over coming out of the store and a girl in the car snitched on him for having the fake. If anybody gives you trouble in a store, just leave.
 
I don't see how the police would ever get you with your ID. If a store realizes it's a fake and decides to call the cops, you can just leave. As long as you don't carry it around with you while you're not using it or try to use it with cops nearby, you shouldn't ever get caught with it.
 
Okay Having a fake drivers license is a felony in some state but not all that is true. And people saying that you can just leave you realize you have to hand your ID over to the person behind the counter. So I don't know how you're going to run out somewhere With your ID. It doesn't happen a lot But it definitely does happen And you can get into A ton of trouble for doing it. Again I really don't care what you do or do not do. Just pointing out you can get into a lot of trouble for doing it. Also the police will have your picture you really think they can't find out who you are with a picture of your face?
 
yeah, assuming the only accurate information on a probably out of state license is your face, there's no way to prove it was you. Even if there is a match, just some kid trying to use your image to buy some beer. Hell I know kids who use fakes with only faces similar to theirs. But again it's a non issue 99% of the time.
 
im sure they can, do i really think they will? no. Also it isn't like the liquor store calls the police every time they get someone trying to use a fake id. All they do is throw it some drawer/or trash can and tell you to get out.
 
no. no state police have access to facial recognition technology for such a petty crime as a kid buying booze with a fake id. they just don't care that much. I had another friend who got called out for his fake at a gas station and they just took the id and told him to get out. people tend to overhype the risks of fake ids when their really aren't many. you sound you're basing most of your statements on assumptions and you don't actually have a clue what you're talking about.
 
get one. i got mine from idchief before it shut down and its great. i dont have to rely on others to get my booze. juts dont be sketchy and youre fine. also avoid liquor stores and bars, use places like cvs, kroger, etc. it has made college so much easier and as long as youre not stupid you wont get caught.
 
id chief is back up and running just if anyone is interested in a fake they are by far the best you can get online.
 
The only chance the police have of catching somebody based solely on their picture is if they go to the media. However, I've never heard of the news doing a story on an unidentified underage alcohol purchaser.

Why are you exaggerating the risks involved? Do you have some vendetta against fakes that makes you want nobody to get them?
 
jay walking is also illegal doesnt mine you are going to get fined. No liquor store will call the cops on you for using a fake unless you are being a complete idiot refusing to leave and causing a scene. the only risk of getting a fake id is that it might get taken away and you have to pay for another

I guarantee that if this kid got the ID, got caught, then got fined etc, he'd come back here with his tough guy "fuck the police" thread. Well, now he knows exactly what can happen to him and has no right to complain if it does. Simple as that. That doesn't mean it will definitely happen.

No, you most likely won't be punished to that full extent. But yes, it can happen.

Be prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
 
If you're reasonably cautious, the odds of getting caught by the police are infinitesimal. Very few store owners will call the police after confiscating a fake ID. Even if they do that, the police are very unlikely to have access to facial recognition technology for such a petty crime. And even if they do have facial recognition software, it can easily be subverted by using the picture of somebody who looks similar to you.

The risk involved is so small that it's not really an issue. Zzzski's effort to make this risk look significant is the definition of exaggeration.
 
Owning a fake, is all about the mindstate you give off. Don't believe me? ask anyone who has been caught with one.
 
The taken ID's are given straight to the police. When you aren't handing in a few ID's every now and then they suspect you are selling to people who are not of age. Which will cause them to send in "stings" more often, and if you do not catch the sting, it's a $10,000 fine.

Admit it's fake, apologize, and we usually give them back.
 
He posted a website with the fucking law in it. How is that in anyway exaggeration? Kids get caught doing it, not many but it does bring up the fact that if you are in that small group who does. They will make an example out of you so you and your 16 year old friends will say o shit we need to get rid of these its not worth it, but as zzz said and i will say it too. I don't care what you do.
 
Used to do this for chew when I was like 13-14haha until an off duty cop said "yeah sure" ad then showed me his badge and scared the piss out of me. Not like he was gonna do anything but still that was the last time I did that...
 
one of my friends had one and one liquor store let him buy the beer and then took the id and nothing happened to him just dont go to like high end liquor stores
 
99% of the time you will get a misdemenor charce of misrepresenting age instead of the felony of falsifying government documents. While it is possible to get the felony charge NO COP IS THAT BIG OF A DOUCHE TO CHARGE YOU WITH A FELONY FOR TRYING TO USE A FAKE IF YOU ARE JUST USING IT TO GET ALCOHOL. I have lots of friends who have been arrested with fakes and none of them have gotten in very much trouble. Most cops just confiscated them.

That being said, How old are you? I am 20 and have had a fake since I was 16 but never really use it since it is just as easy to have friends who are 21 grab something when we are going to hang out. If your in college then parents will start to buy you alcohol soon since they know you drink already. Not worth it for just summers if you are already in college because all your friends will start to turn 21 soon.
 
1)no bouncer cares enough to do this and if they do where you live I feel bad for you2) most of my friends who had fake id's were just people's real ones who looked like them, most of their pictures didn't even look the same

you are all so fucking ignant. shit does not always go according to plan. there are numerous ways you can get caught with a fake and fucked.

situation numero uno) assuming you arent completely fucking retarded (which i think is a dumb assumption to make for nsg...) you use a real name. very common for you to need a second form of id. i have no idea why you are all stupid enough to think you will never under any circumstances get caught with a fake. jesus im mad
