Faction Soma 2017 - Info?

Hi guys,

I have used the search bar but there has been little to no chatter on the Soma in general and the ski has been changed for this season. Has anyone got/used this ski and can they shed any light on what it is like? Looking for a high performance ski that is solid all around the mountain including a bit of pow here and there. Something you can really charge on. Was also considering the Candide 1.0 but thought the Soma would be more versatile.

Looking at the 184cm size - height around 186cm and weight around 187lbs/85kg

Should I be looking for something else?

Thanks!

If its any help I ski on the 2014 soma and its freakin awesome its my only ski and handles all terrain and snow conditions really really well. It's super durable, I have over 50 park days on it and all of my edges are still on the ski which Ive heard is crazy. I don't know what kind of pow you ski but the 92 waist on the soma will handle any east coast pow day I get with ease ( deepest was 2 feet and floated like a dream once you pick up some speed). I'm 5'8" and have the 176, I know its an older model but I hope this helps, I definatelt reccomend this!

That's a big help. Thanks man!

the Soma is the rocker-camber-rocker version of the Wednesday, which is by far my favorite ski i've ever owned. stiff, poppy, super playful, loves to hold an edge, perfect underfoot to handle anything up to about 12" of fresh.

the rocker probably affects its carving ability slightly, but probably makes it more buttery and playful. if you can find one, you absolutely will not be disappointed
