Faction Skis

Hey dudes,

so im looking into getting a new park setup and im damn sick of breaking edges. From what i've heard Faction skis are pretty close to indestructible. Hoping to get some info from people who have a pair or have skied a pair. Or if anyone knows any other skis that are solid when it comes to park because im pretty sick of only having my skis last a season or two.

background: currently skiing on Volkl Kinks, im 5'7" 145lbs, advanced rider. rails on the daily.

spark-notes: Need skis that are indestructible. whats good?

ON3P or Kittenfactory would be good choices for lots of rails because both use thickest edges available 2.5MM x 2.5MM so they should have the longest life.

However daily rail use kills skis super quick and so you can only expect a max of 2 or so seasons imo.

My 2.0s are amazing, except that the topsheet chips surprisingly easy. Way more than my previous line futurespins. But that doesn't affect the riding ability. I would totally recommend the 2.0s.

Another thing that was awesome when I first started skiing them, I never had to detune the edges for rails, it was smooth like butter despite the sharp edges.

If you are going through edges quickly then get some thick edged ski and a soft sidewall. This combination will allow longer life. I haven't seen them in person, but if the production quality is there, I could easily Argue that batalla has the most durable skis on the market.

The sidewall design+thickest edges on the market (I'm pretty sure they are 2.5x2.5) will give you the most life from them no matter how you ski rails (edge wear vs. Edge cracks).

If you have ever heard of the durability of the Fischer nightsticks, its because of the soft sidewall that the edges hold up so well despite being pretty standard.

J skis and candide 1.0's also use the 2.5mm x 2.5mm edge

I really feel like the jury is still out on edge thickness = durability of edge. Lots of reasons for this, none of which I will list. -K for shitty post

mmm yeah, thick edge+soft sidewall seems like it'd give you the most durability for your edge though
