Faction Prodigy Durability

Over the past couple days I’ve been looking at the Faction prodigy 1.0s and wonder how durable they are. My current line chronics have held up but are starting to get the usual line skis wear and tear

The candides from a couple years ago kind of hurt the reputation of the brand but the current prodigy's seem to be on par with most park skis. Rails will crack edges eventually etc. Factions warrenty dept also has a good reputation.

I know someone with the green one and the die cut base is falling out underfoot, and faction is completely sold out so they're offering him skis for next year... The local shop is hooking it up and giving him skis now so they'll just sell the factions next year. Imo stay tf away from skis with diecut base logos underfoot if you wanna hit rails.

I wouldn't call them "great" in durability but they aren't horrible. The durability decent. Definilty better than Line though. Factions durability has improved though. The good news is that Faction has one of the best warranty's and customer service out there. The prodigy is a super fun ski and I would highly recommend it.

my skate deck afterbangs easily out lived my faction candide 1.0 in ski days.

the factions:

-edges popped out in the tips

-die cut bases started falling out

-bindings tore out

-top sheet chipped pretty bad

-side wall started coming out over cracked edge areas

afterbangs:

-delaminated in the tip, but epoxy worked good since theyre entirely wood.

that being said, the factions did ski 10000000000 times better. never tried prodigy, probably wont buy faction again

I work at a shop that has carried factions for bout 4 years now, pre 2020 I had to fill more warranty claims than I could count, 90% of those being candides. From then until now I’ve had to do 5 warranties on factions and they were all CT’s, jr skis, or the new 0.0 which you’d kind of expect to blow up for 350 bucks. As long as your looking at the 1.0 and up they’ll be solid, the 0.0 not so much.

I have the 2021 prodigy’s and they’re holding up pretty average, their past shadows over how good their skis really are, which totally sucks

I don't own any but from hearing other people's experiences I think they're average durability like ARV's, nothing bad but don't assume they'll turn out like older Candides.

True. I have volkl revolts where some of the diecut volkl logo in the base has fallen out. However, they are beat to shit park skis and it doesn't really affect anything for the skiing I do on them (urban and rock skiing)
