Faction CT 20/21 mounting changed?

I just got a pair of CT 2.0 20/21, coming from the same 18/19 model. I was planning on mounting them on the “candide” mark, but noticed that there is only one mark on the ski without any text. I read up on their website and it says that the only mark on the new CT series is the “newschool” mark. The newschool mark is the closest to true center, but it’s still a long way back. I lined up the old and the new model (both 178), and the “candide” mark is about 28mm in front of the “newschool” mark. I also tested the weight distribution by balancing the ski on my finger, and the “candide” mark on the old ski was balanced, but the “newschool” mark was not, and as I thought I had to go 30mm forward to make it balance.

So... what do I do? I want the same mounting as my old ski, but faction does not recommend going over the newschool line even though it’s way back, almost at the all mountain line in comparison to the old system.

Mount on the new Candide line and you’re good!

The new skis are slightly directional now (old 2.0 were symmetrical) so they will naturally be a bit back of the old version. Candide mark is the center of the turn radius so it will work best there. The “all mountain” mark on the new skis are now 3cm back of the Candide one.

Thanks, I’ll give it a try!

Remember, these are now a directional sidecut, hence the new ‘new school’ mark being further back from the CT mark. That said, mount +2, call it a day

Do you think I would notice any downsides? I am thinking about doing that.

Damn haha

Haha sorry man, I’m sure you’re stoked on your new gear. For me, there are better 100ish park skis out there. But I’m sure you’ll have fun this season :)
