Faction Candide 2.0 VS ON3P Katrel 98

I'm looking to buy an all-mountain twin tip ski that can charge and rip hard-pack but something that's still playful. Being an ex-racer I know how to carve through most conditions but I'm just getting into park... I'm 187cm and 90kg lean so I don't want something too soft but yet playful... also I'm looking for a tough, durable ski...

Basically what's better? Faction Candide 2.0 or ON3P Kartel 98?

people rave about the Kartels, I have no personal experience with either tho

this should be in gear talk bud

You can't go wrong with either. If you were looking for a more all mountain, I'd recommend the Kartel 106 over the 98. Faction and On3p both produce really well made skis.

Both are do-everything skis, and they do everything pretty dang well.

people rave about anything ON3P on this site. i know they are very solid skis, but still

You have no idea how much I love my kartel 98's never ridden faction's but you really can't top kartel's.

check out the salomon rocker 2 100. great all mtn ski with good amount of camber underfoot for stability while also having tip and tail rocker for playfulness.

I would base your decision off how much you enjoy hitting rails. Faction 2.0 have 1.8mm edges while the Kartels have the 2.5mm beef mcgee edges. Also take into consideration the more metal the heavier the ski.

Quite different skis considering Candide's are symmetrical, meant to be center mounted, and Kartel's are directional and are meant to be mounted a little bit back. That being said I can't speak for any ski as I havent tried either, but I will vouch for the rocker2's as they are an amazing ski, and have heard they are similar to the kartels but a bit lighter.

Kartels are much more durable. i had a friend snap 3 pairs of factions in one season just taking casual park laps. i couldn't believe it. on3p all the way
