Facebook wall rant

does anyone else have a problem with people writing on facebook walls?

and im not talking about like "hey, i havent talked to you in forever, how are things?"

no

its when girls (or guys, but usually girls) are like best friends. the see each other in person, they talk on the phone and text and even instant message, but they still need to post on each others wall. like birthdays, i say happy birthday to people in school, or through text or something. why do i need to also post on their wall?

or more recently, college acceptance. girls writing paragraphs about how happy they are for their friend. but is it necessary to put it on a facebook wall post? does everyone else need to see that? its not like im jealous or something (cuz i knew where i was going to college on the first day of school), i just find it unneessary and cruel to those people who got rejected or something.

and the worst is when they just have a conversation. there are two juniors, best friends, probably video chatting each other while they post on each other walls.

basically since the whole news feed on facebook, shits just gotten annoying

yeah i know what you mean, the only time my buddies post on my wall is if they find something cool on the internet and just post the link on my wall or if they can't get in touch with me.

the rest of the time its people i don't see very often. usually go to different schools and shit

Same here. It's been nice not having to inadvertently hear about and look at everyone's lives. Stuff got old. Facebook is getting out of hand...jus' sayin.

facebook is a way to present yourself how you want on the internet.

If these people want for others to think of them as "popular", or "social" they'll have a pretty active facebook, they'll post on peoples wall for the hell of it, anything than look like they're dull boring people. People are insecure.

As a personal priciple, I would ignore it. It is akin to shit-sifting on NS.

But as a general question I, too, am confused why people have this need to post all this shit, questions, statements, whatever it may be, to people they really, really know. Ultimately I think it is just that people want to be seen, even if that is posting "happy birthday omgga !!!11!!!!1!" on their best friend's wall, while at their birthday party. But who knows. More power to Facebook.
