when you look at your profile, are the people who show up in your friends list people who check your profile? cuz some people definatelly show up more often than others

it might have to do with the people you interact with the most, facebook is pretty stric on protecting facebook stalkers

No, its random. Most likely, the people who you know/recognize instantly/would look for will seem to show up more often, but thats just because you notice it more easily when you glance at it.

ya its pretty much undeniable. i refreshed the page like 10 times and like 4 people showed up at least 4 times a piece. one is my brother who has been in india for 2 months so it would make sense that he facebook hored me. does this work for anyone else?

It is not based on who views your page.

Refresh your page 100,000 times and then youll see that nobody comes up more often.

i refreshed 8 times just now and three people showed up every single time...one of them was Ian Cosco so i'm guessing this rumour is not true.

think about the probability of any one person randomly showing up. its tiny. now square that, you have the probablity of someone showing up two consecutive times. i got someone to show up four consecutive times, and i only refreshed my page 10 times

ive noticed that too, the other day i was thinking that and refreshed a few times and each time there were at least 3 of the same people as before

The probability of one person randomly showing up once out of 10 times is the same as that of someone coming up 4 times in a row out of 10 times.

For example, winning the lottery with the numbers 123456 is equally as unlikely as winning with 597831 or any other random combination.

Just because something is unlikely doesnt mean it needs a special explanation.

i think he's pointing out the part where you said your probability of winning the lottery once is the same as your probability of winning it four times in a row. you know, the part where you said seeing one person once is the same as seeing one person four times in a row.

you are mentally retarded. the probabability of someone showing up once out of 10 times if you have 100 friends is 1/10th. the probability of him showing up 4 times in a row is

.01^4 x .99^6 x 7

1 in 100 of a shot of being there, then to the 4th, because they have to be in a row. then theres 6 spots left (assuming he shows up 4 and only 4 times) out of the 10, but 99 more people, so its 99^6. then x7 because the 4 in a row could take place throughout the first 4, 2-5, 3-6, etc etc. yeah, im really good at probability and all the nPr and nCr shit

its definitely not who you interact with the most cause I just refreshed 10x and 3 of the same people showed up every time and I hardly talk to those people

or you can say that there are ten ways for a person to show up 1 in 10 times, but only 6 ways for a person to show up 4 times in a row in 10 times, so the probabilities cant be the same
