Facebook Copyright infringement

I was just notified of a copyright infringement by facebook, because I used some songs in a video edit. How would the record labels... or artists have ever found out I used there music? It's not like the edit was massive and great... it was just some junk I threw together of some skiing. Kinda confused as to why they would even bother, but I probably should have atleast credited them for the tunes. But once again, it's intention was never to leave my small circle of friends since it was embarressing.

it's most likely just standard that they screen every video that is uploaded along with every picture. No matter how big or small the video is, they probably check it out. Like Youtube.

haha... no longer uploaded since it was removed. And, I would never post it on NS due to the nature of the film and the gaper-esque skiing/skiboarding/snowboarding involved. I would get roasted. But the music was tight. Cut Chemist, Q-tip and Lyrics Born

yeah dude the last two videos i tried to upload to youtube got removed due to copy write infrignment so now i just upload to vimeo

same thing happened to me too. i think if you credit the song in your movie you should be fine.

As long as you bought the song (which they can't really prove that you did/didn't) and you're not using it to make money of it, it's legal, isn't it?

this is unfortunately not true. i credited my songs and they got removed also. damn music industry. can't they just let us make a dope video.

If they didn't threaten to cancel my account, if I reloaded the film, I probably would. Shoulda thought that one through.

^incorrect.

its illegal to use more than thirty seconds of the song.

youtube has software where if there is copywrite info imbedded in the music (for example if you bought it off itunes) than it won't let you upload it.

as for facebook, i'm not sure if they indivudually screen them or if the use software but yeah its mad ghey

I am not suggesting this for you, because you said you would never upload to NS because the skiing sucked, but everyone should just upload to NS. NS doesn't give a shit about that kind of thing.

youtubes been taking the audio off of some of my favorite videos. such as not another day at keystone with mike hornbeck.

my friend told me if u put the song in garage band and slow it down at one point (a couple of seconds) the software wont detect it since its not technically the copywrited song
