Yes im living on my own and yes i have a job and yes i pay for my living costs. And the point of that question is??? You think that the NS team survive off NS, and thus that these ads are because they dont make enough money to pay the rent?
 
fuck man, i really dont understand your point... every occasion i get to make money i grab it dude, its my philosophy, i dont like money that much dude, its just that it pays for all the cds I buy... so anytime i can redux my costs, i fuckin do it! so why not them???
 
Yeah ok you clearly didnt understand the point of this thread: as a J.O.K.E.

The real point is though that it is a slippery slope from these ads to much more intrusive and annoying ones. Matt Harvey managed to keep the site running without any ads at all. So why all these new ones? Are they really necessary for NS to function? Or are they simply there because of greed? Im not saying I'm not greedy-every human is-but i think there will be a point where it will be detrimental to the website.

i think the word greedy is kinda hard in this situation... but as for me, yes and with a total absence of remorses, i would use this hugely-frequented website to make money outta marketing...

The addition of the google ads is an attempt to create a year-long revenue stream for the site and do it in a fairly inoffensive manner.

Right now financial support for the site during the summer is quite low, even though traffic remains strong, so we decided to see if the google ads can help round things out.

We're still not sure how successful the ads will be, but time will tell.

Ne one that seriously thinks ns is selling out needs to take economics... the site is completely free and allows file upload and download.. personaly im all about ns makin as much money as possible.. IT JUST MEANS A BETTER SITE AND COMMUNITY FOR ALL OF US!.

Working for free is the best thing ever. I made it through three months at Powder and now I'm busted broke. I guess I'll sell out and get a job. Sorry everyone. I guess I, much like everyone in this industry, didn't have a big enough heart to work harder for less. Working 60+ hours a week, rent, unpaid assignment travel, tuition costs and family expenses really aren't that much. Please everyone, forgive the industry..... Does anyone actually know how many hours these guys put into this site while not getting paid enough? C'mon people. Let's be real.

Sorry, that's my rant. And yes, I do feel better now.

who fucking cares if i havn't donated yet. Yes i am going to donate sooner or later. but why do you have sucha problem with the ads on the page? I don't even fucking see them half the time. All of it is helping the site.
