Eye Trip vs. Revolver

i didnt like that in Eye Trip they zoomed too much out, or they filmed to far away from the rider, sometimes you need to pay real good attention only to see what tricks they did

eye trip was wayy better!

the music for revolver didnt go with it at all.. i had to wath like 2 segments at a time then take a break and come back over and over again. eye trip could sit there and enjoy it with out being bored to death at all..

i mean dont get me wrong eye trip wasnt the best level 1 video they have put out but it was better than revolver

i liked revolver better because it featured my favourite skiers, and they were actually doing things i hadn't seen before, although i've never seen anyone slide a tennis net before (that was cool). having ahmet's part (the climax) at the beginning of the movie was a bad choice.

soundtrack in both movies was fucking terrible. worse than last years soundtracks, which were also fucking terrible.

i am not a fan of the way both movies were just like super-edits where you just edit a bunch of shots together and throw a bunch of music on top like it's a fucking rock concert and not a ski movie. i know PBP thinks they aren't doing this by throwing in little clips of the riders repeating the same tired lines about how fucking cool skiing is and how it's changed their life in every movie for the past i dunno how many years, but they are. at least Level 1 isn't trying to bullshit us into thinking we're actually watching a film and not just mashup of shots thrown together. i've seen 10 minute edits on NS with more substance than i saw in either of these movies.

I am not seeing the credit eye trip deserves. Eye trip made me want to ski and had a better vibe. Also it WAS better than refresh, even though refresh was ill. Revolver was the movie that was the step down from last year's EDIA. People have it in the wrong order

eye trip is the best movie this year hands down!!this movie have action and is banger all time....nice to see level 1 in the top again.....this movie is the best or one of the best movie i ever seen.....thanks for this movie

Eye trip was ridiculous. Ahmet's opening segment made the theater go nuts during Freshtival. The cinematography and music choices were amazing and level 1 has kept things legit even after all these years. PBP used to be the innovators in ski movies but now it seems like they're sort of trying to play catchup to level 1. Also hate Edmonton and the fact that they re-used a song from last years Level 1 movie for the Edmonton segment, that's very Edmonton of them :)

ahmets 50-50 disaster? Keep in mind he's hitting the creeper, not the ledge. If that didn't impress you, maybe you should stop watching ski movies all together, you'll only be let down.

after watching revolver a second time i now realize there was not as much dubstep as i remembered less then half of the music is actually dubstep

I'm gonna bring this beast back up. I thought that shot was INSANE, I had to watch it like 10 times to make sure I saw it right. By the way, Logan, I was glad you could get a seggy in there, I loved it, made me want to get out and ski.

Actually, based on liking Revolver better than Eye Trip he probably does. Based on the fact that he liked JP's segment he probably does.

I can see people complaining about the music and the editing in Revolver, but the skiing was awesome.

It is good to see Poor Boyz getting further away from urban, and more towards big mountain skiing. If the best thing about Eye Trip was urban, that says bad things about the movie. I would rather watch a Real Action Pictures movie from the early/mid 90's than a bunch of boring urban shit.

Both were kinda weak in comparison to last years films. Not in terms of footage, but in terms of editing. Level 1 this year apparently thought it would be best to make a minimalist movie without any narration, special feature or artistic aspect at all. That might please hardcore jibbing fans - it didn't please me. But that's just my opinion. Revolver was ok, but my definite favorites were The Way I See It and Out of the Shadows. Not because they focused on Big Mountain, but just of the way they were able to tell a story and deliver a message.

No narrative? did you watch the movie. there is talking in a few segments, it isn't a Warren Miller Entertainment film, it isn't a documentary. I dont know what you guys are expecting out of ski movies these days i can understand a little more artistic appeal, but special feature? Its a fucking ski movie, enjoy the riding. Urban is a part of skiing as much as you "hardcore skiers" might not like it. look at any other sport, if all you want to see is powder powder powder then watch movies from the 90s cause this shit isn't changing anytime soon

i heard that revolver had a lot of shots in the powder which is cool but it gets really boring after a while. Eye trip wasnt great but it had shots from urban to the backcountry to the park which is always fun to watch.

It just doesn't live up to what it was in Refresh. My opinion. And in terms of artistic appeal, I meant something along these lines:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ka1Lqkp6s6c

And fuckin chill. I never said I want hardcore skiing. If you had read my post: I said I don't care if urban, park or bc, it's a general thing this years edits lacked. So chill, thx!

i was just talking about the narrative part for you, the other stuff i was referring to a few posts ahead. i agree about the artistic appeal. Refresh was definitely good with the narrative from Warren, but how many more times can we have movies like that. I think Level 1 has always done good with the amount of talking in the movie and this one is no different.

True, you can't do that again every year. It would just be refreshing to hear something else than "powder is like floating, we all share one passion, blabla" and the rest of these one liners in a ski movie.

And yes, I did buy all of these movies because I want to support them and like the companies. But because of that, I get picky from time to time. ^^

they both sucked as movies, some interesting things to be found in there but as a movie they sucked balls....

network and out of the shadows where like a zillion times better

narration: they walked you through the trip to europe and touched on how deep rooted the european lifestyle is in skiing. they also brought in the rebirth of sun valley as a town with an awesome interview. apparently those were a little too deep for you.

artistic aspect: i don't see how the fuck you don't see any art in that film? remote heli shots, real heli shots, dollys, all of these add to the artistic value of the film. as well as freedle's artistic meander into the down time waiting for good weather in alaska, using the grainy black and white effect and wildlife shots.

and i'm not exactly sure what you mean by "special feature", but the sun valler jump was a feature that was pretty fucking special.

Eye Trip hands down. Ahmet's part was the freshest segment in years. Plus the whole movie had awesome cinematography and editing. Revolver was pretty bad in my opinion. Although Sammy's seg was good. It just went on forever and had a bunch of lackluster montages. And the soundtrack was terrible. JP's double mute backflip was the shit though.

Eye trip is my favorite ski movie of all time. Phil's segment is simply spectacular. It oozes style and technicality. Probably the greatest 5 minutes of ski related video ever produced.

Revolver was alright. A couple cool shots but no Grand Bizzare style jaw droppers.

i hate when people answer the thread with searchbar followed by something fucking stupid. its not even funny and its hard to search for forums anyway so stfu...anyway...refresh>eye trip>revolver
