Extreme dissapointment with stevens...

so, being dissapointed with stevens' park is by no means nothing new. However, it has just gone too bloody far.

so... there is a 60"+ base now, which is more than we have had this year, or the entirety of last year.

what does that mean for the park? well, it means the jumps that already exist, instead, become smaller (funny huh?), the landings of said jumps become flatter (as do the lips) and lets not forget that the puny selection of rails and boxes that do exist just chill beside the run, being buried by all this wonderful snow.

oh and you cant forget that nothing at all has been built since before christmas, and we were getting rain then, not 3 ft of snow...

even though it isnt quite the masterpiece (some potential, though), the cock ride has been missing a chunk of snow in the undervert tranny for almost 2 weeks now, and it hasnt been fixed! thats quite spiffy, really shows the motivation of the mountain. yay.

yeah, its really depressing seeing all those rails sitting by the run..you'd think they'd at least set some of them up now that they have gotten some snow.
 
Stevens park sucks. It's like they have a ten foot limit on rails and jumps. We shouldn't have to be patient at 40 bones a pop. They do have plenty of cliffs that are fun though. Get that super booter up though and it would be a different story. Hopefully they make it right. I'm tempted to take my shovel up and fix the cock ride myself.
 
mang those are some of the coolest guys and girls, dont hate....but dont expect any more rails this weekend because of the thursday night rail jam....

and if you really want your voice to be heard, biching on newschoolers isnt gonna do it, go talk to the people yourself
 
No he's not, he's totally right. I'm all for smokin weed and shit but do it on your own fucking time. Work is work and those fucking terrain park hacks need to get off their asses when they're on the clock. There's a hundred other kids out there who would commit murder to have that job and they'd probably be way better at it.

I'm pissed, I'm declaring all out war. If that whole fucking park crew and their new manager have to get fired and replaced for that park to live up to its potential, then that's how its gonna have to be.
 
we have certainly been voicing to them, through comment cards, and im drafting up a nice loongg letter again.

but those on the park crew are pretty cool, however, theyre pretty unfit for the job. they ride more than work.
 
The park crew can't do anything until there boss tells them to start building stuff and until that happens more power to em smokin the herb. PUFF PUFF PEACE
 
well thats why we want change... they are... Incompetent! if its due to management, then new management. but its still frustrating that there is a park crew, but they ride, not park crew it up like their jobs entitles them to.
 
you're stressin about this too much man if they were REALLY bad at there jobs they would have gotten fired RIGHT? and if you're comment cards would have worked they would have already been putting up new shit cause all the new snow RIGHT? but still I guess they could end up working. but for real though RELAX just SKI & SMILE. Skiing includes a lot more then park go EXPLORE some if you wanna big park you're gonna have to go to Cali or sumthin. just gonna have to live wit it man. it's all good
 
i mean how hard is it to add another couple of rails (1 day) it cant be that hard or build up the jumps i dont understand its not like we need to wait for snow
 
well see thats the thing. Ive rode some dope parks, but why cant we have that here? why travel to california when you can just go to stevens? i mean stevens will never be anything like june mtn. or mammoth, but where its at isnt good. If there is enough energy generated, the power shifts and then things change.

only problem is when people on the "inside" think theyre doing a good job, people dont get fired (thats not what im calling for either, but if it has to be done for things to change, then so be it) and nothing happens. that is why we are voicing our frustration. i think you totally misunderstand the point.
 
I should have applied for park crew at stevens... I don't really know much about building jumps but I know how to smoke and I like to get paid to ride all day instead of dealing with stupid punk ass customers at fucking Kidd Valley over my breaks...
 
its rediculously hard to work for stevens park crew if: 1) you have never worked at stevens. 2) you arent tight with their employees or their manager. alot of politics are involved with getting a job there.

Gormley claims to want a sick park more than anyone else. If that's true then I see no point in emailing him, he would already be doing everything in his power to make it happen.
 
gormley is the events and marketing "guy" and so he doesnt really have much control with the park.

that being said, emails directed to the park still go straight to gormley.

members of the park crew, as well as gormley, have said to write in. and we have. and thats why were letting others know to do the same. otherwise, we are stuck in this lull
 
stop sending emails to matt complaining about the park. he really wants a better park, i know that for a fact, but isnt in the position to do it himself.....he is now the main events coordinator, and have you checked the events scedule lately??? tons of sponsers for our events, even ARMADA for all you pipe skiers....not to mention the snowboarder who wins the superpark qualifier at stevens gets a full paid trip to superpark......i know that doesnt mean much to you skiers, but it sure does show some progress in our events, and i hand some props to matt for that
 
isnt the idea that the bosses told them to start building the best park they can by giving them the job. any way smoking on the job is worth getting fired for in its self, amagine what would happen if they smoked in any other job. But I guse you can have it your way, next time you need your skiis tuned/mounted by chris he will just smoke and not work on your skis untill his boss tells him to work on your skis.

but it goes beyond them not doing the job as well. in this nice long letter i drafted, i included a large variety of claims about their park, that the management have made, and by no means lived up to. just thought id share that they gloat, but there is nothing to gloat about.

Yo im bummed on the park at stevens too, its sad to see a place where you have had so many amazing times get blown down. But dont be dissin on the new park manager, he is the ex groomer, and if you have ever hit a boot you have liked there, it was built by him. Do the comment card thing, but dont be bitchy about it, professionalism will get a better reaction then a bunch of punk ass teenagers whining like there daddy took the keys to there car away. peace niggs.
