Exposure Question

So I was shooting a little interview with the co-owner of a new ski hill in my town. I deiced to set up the interview in the lodge, because it was so windy today. The only thing was the lodge is 80% windows so there was a lot a bright light. Heres the problem I have, lots of over exposed windows.

I cant re-shoot this, so is there anything I could do in final cut? or anything I could do in the future to fix this?

you're going to have to deal with it

doesn't look awful, but even a professional camera doesn't have the dynamic range to expose both the subject inside and the bright outdoors.

Protip for next time: don't shoot with a bright backlit scene. Move it somewhere else!

If you want it to look professional when you shoot indoors, invest in a small lighting package. Lights will give an exposure setting where it can match the light from the outdoors.

In FCP you can try to adjust the exposure on his face with a mask.
