both were uploaded DV tapes but one was shot with my hv 30 and one was shot with a panasonic non HD camera. i want to put them in the same movie but when i try to export it says codec error..
i haven't researched it, but I'm pretty sure there is no way to combine standard and high def in the same sequence/timeline because the frame-rates aren't the same. It would be possible to capture the HD stuff as standard, and combine the footage that way though.
How would they have different frame rates? They'll both be 29.97 unless they have a hvx and shoot 59.97. And you can, just use an HD time line, zoom into the SD to make it 16x9, export 640x360.
Down res your HD footage to SD. On the odd chance that the HD footage is 24p, you'll have to add a pulldown if you want it to look smooth. What codec are you exporting to?
Ehh technically its all 60i on tape.I dont think you should be having frame rate problems. What program are you using? For our movie we had a couple DVX shots and upscaled them (since 95% of the movie was HD). It works both ways if your putting it to a DVD because in the end its going to be 720X480.You really should not have any problems with both in the same timeline.
