Explaining Rockered

From what i understand about rockered i think i can see why it's decent for the soft stuff... if i understand it right... but how can something rockered like the Moment Reno rocker be good for park (since it's a park ski)? Maybe i'm not up on exactly what rockered means...

People like them for the park because they are buttery, because you can get up on the rocker part and press. That is pretty much the only reason I have seen. That, and people think it is cool to ride them in the park, but I think it is kinda faddish. I rode the EPs in the park and they were super buttery, but the binders kept on ejecting because I was too rad for them.

his will help, i found this quotes from cedric

" " " "Spinning a lot and landing on hard packed park jump landings isnt what the rockered park skis are made for. Rockered skis are not as stable on landings and are/should be used for a different approach to park skiing where instead of doing big technical tricks you'll do more basics tricks deifferently and do differenct vairations of these tricks to make them more technically impressive.

EX: nose utter 270 onto a down rail would be easier to do with rockered park skis while a corked 9 over a 90 footer will be easier on a shorter regular camber pure park ski.

hope that helps you understand what rockered park skis are made for. Pep and Andy didnt do cab 10 with the hell bents because they didnt want to do them, it's also because they probably wouldnt have been able to do decent ones with those skis. They chose to take a different aproach with different skis and do stuff other riders wouldnt do with their regular skis." " " "

I was just about to write that again and then I figured out someone already quoted me.

Yeeaaaaaaaarrrrrr

anyway yea rocker skis for park are not better then regular park skis, just differnent skis for diffenrent use...

I can ski bumps with my bibbys but they are definatly not made for bumps. You can do wahtever you want with any kind of skis strapped to your feet, some skis just make it easier to do some stuff while other will mkake it harder cause it's not what they have been made for.

bibby= less rocker morestiffness more all around ripping ability, pretty much a fat ass all mountian jibbing tool.

I totally went upside down to my face on my first butter atemp while going fast with them but ohter then that I would say they are a nice all round park/pow ski.

EP are too soft for anything but powder anyway.

I have the rocker...

Theyre great as a park ski. In the park I have only washed out on a landing once, but since I over shot it by just a tiny 15 feet, I dont think a regular ski would have made a difference. Its probably important to note that if you spend your time landing on your tails, it would be good to take a jumping course.

They have held up really well. I even like them in pipe, but Im horrible at pipe so Im not sure it counts.

There is lots of pop, blah blah... I wrote a review on them https://newschoolers.com/web/content/reviews/action/read/id/620/

they work super amazing. if you get a chance try out some rockered skis. They's fun son!
