Exhisting drill holes question

Ok so I scored myself a pair of Bentchetlers but passed on the Atomic FFG 12 demo (with sliders) binders that were on them. Now for my question:

* Can I reuse the holes for Jesters?

* If not can I reuse the holes for Salomon STH 16's? (more likely since the atomic ffg is basically a rebranded Solly)

* Is it better to redrill or use helicoil on the exhisting holes?

I did a few phonecalls with some local stores but get the feeling most of them dont know shit about mounting a ski for the second time.. getting different answers everywhere! Whatever the concensus is on this Im probably best of waiting til i get to Austria where I can get them remounted by a 'real' skishop.

The problem is it depends on your BSL and what they were mounted for, plus since they were demo bindings, there were plates that were screwed into the ski, then the bindings were screwed into the plates, so you most likely wont be able to use any of the holes cause they'll be in weird spots. However, you can pretty much use any binding because the holes wont be anywhere close. The shop will take care of filling the holes for you. Don't worry, your skis can take a remount, they're pretty beefy and have a nice wood core.

you should post a picture of the hole pattern in here, might be a good thing to do. i havent a clue what the FFG demo hole pattern looks like, but i do know that FFG 12s (same as an STH 12) has a different hole pattern than an STH 16 in the toe piece (16 has four holes, 12 has 3).

Yes that all makes much more sense than what the stores told me.. When I asked them about helicoil they all said 'thats not possible' so I knew they were full shit.

I will post a pic of the filled holes when the skis arrive.. and yea since theyre beefy wooden cores I was hoping that would be an advantage

+K to all

if your new binders have the EXACT hole requirements as the existing holes, and thats where you want them mounted (and you BSL is the same) you can reuse them. But only as long as the bindings were unscrewed, and not just ripped out of the ski. But unless you removed them yourself, Id helicoil, like everyone has recommended .

Skis arrived, as promised here's a pic of the exhisting holes. Theres actually two more holes on each ski at the right edge of the picture, theyre slightly wider apart than the others.. you can still see one on the top ski.

well they've already been filled (and even painted, very nice), just take them to the shop to get them mounted with whatever binding you want, where ever you want, they'll be fine and if your shop can reuse the holes they will, but most likely they wont be able to.
