Dropped my skis off to get mounted at evo. Pivot 95’s on 102 width skis. I’ve done this before no problem.

they just left me a message saying it won’t work unless they bend them but they’ll swap the pivs for 115.

the fuck are they talking about? Anyone ever had a problem with 95’s on 102’s?

No issues. Moment recommended pivot 95’s on the commander 102 and the deathwish 104. Though admittedly they are now offering the 105 brake as an option on those as well but still offering the 95 in the pivot 12/14.

evo is weird. I wouldn’t throw a 115 on a 102. Do they have any 105 brakes they can swap?

I mounted 115 pivots on a pair of 122’s. The brakes cleared without needing to be bent. This was only a 7mm difference (as is the same in your case). But maybe the 95 pivots don’t give as much spare room in the brake width as the 115s do?

Evo is wrong. I've never had an issue with a shop mounting 95s on skis over 102. ON3P actually has it on their website that they recommend mounting 95 pivots on 100-102, and suggest it's an option to mount 95s on their 108 skis.

I actually had a buddy at a shop who called a guy mid mount because he brought revolt 104s and 115 pivots asking if he wanted them to swap the brakes out for 95s no charge.

Bonus: here are some sexy 108s that have 95 pivots without bending.

I got 95’s on ARV 106’s. No problem.

B115s on 102 waists would drive me BANANAS

i'm not surprised though, a lot of shop employees think this way and i'm sure they're just taught it so if they don't know better from experience they think it's the rule

if i were you i'd just try to get them on the phone and get it figured out

Evo is not your coner store beer drinking ski shop. This is a massive business that doesnt cut corners even if its a small corner to cut in your eyes. Larger chian companies have processes that they need to follow. They probably arent wrong about bending the brakes/swapping out for correct size (probably not expesive at all and not that big of a deal). This is not your cool uncle type of ski shop, go find a small one that lets you smoke a spliff while they mount your skis and you probably wont have the same type of additude twoards your issue.

Did this dude get banned for alleging that a 95mm pivot brake will not work on a 102mm width ski?

I forgot to mention the hippie that did the intake didn't think "newer" grip walk pivots would work with standard alpine soles. He had a second guy go in the back "to check." At first I thought I misunderstood because this idea seemed so impossibly stupid, but nope.

Anyway at this point I just hope they don't fuck up the mount. And they charge $80.

Never again Evo.

It was a joke on how much of a core belief on NS it is that the 95mm pivot brake will fit on any ski.

gotcha. most of my skiing life, i used B75s on 80s, 90s waist skis so yeah lol
