Everyone Needs a Moped

I'm shopping, and saving money for a used Tomos Targa LX. Slap an aftermarket exhaust on it, 45ish MPH and 100ish MPG!!!

This thread's actually what inspired me to get one. I think I can cut back on driving my car in the city by about 40% with a moped, during the warmer months. And hell if the roads are good, why not in the winter too?

Yeah, mine goes about 30mph stock, gonna put a dope exhaust on it, possibly take the governor/restrictor off if it has one, which it prob does, get a smaller sprocket for the back wheel, and then probably put a 70cc speed kit on it last, hopefully total about 45mph+.

Thats what's up man, I picked my 89 ninja 600 up for $1000 and it has been so much fun and so good on gas. Plus I can ride it into work because it will do highway speeds unlike most mopeds/scooters. But, if you dont have to deal with higher speeds for commuting, mopeds are tons of fun.

Yeah I'm also keeping my eyes out for a motorcycle, but the fact that a moped weighs around 100 pounds or so (can be moved alot easier, with like a car rack or something), and they don't require a motorcycle license makes me want one.

So after thinking of things I can buy with the money from the sale of my dh bike I finally decided to purchase a moped. So while looking on craigslist I found a Tomos Targa from 2001 that has a 70cc big bore kit and an upgraded exhaust, carb, and intake by techniaggas and gets this bad boy going up to 55 mph all for $450. He said someone cut the front lights and kill switch cable which he said I could twist the cables back together and put electricians tape over or get it fixed by a shop for 80 bucks. So ns I think I'm going to go for this and was wondering what you think about the cut cables.
