i like both elvis and beatles

All save one. There, waiting silent and still in the space before the gate, sat Gandalf upon Shadowfax : Shadowfax, who alone among the free horses of the earth endured the terror, unmoving, steadfast as a graven image in Rath Dinen.'

I guess you can say the Beatles are overrated if you skimover the fact that they innovated and changed american culture in the 60s-70s.

I dont like Elvis, I just dont enjoy his voice at all or his style. Beatles are the shit however. Their music is actual music, their songs are more complex than lot of stuff and interesting, all their songs are amazing. Think about how consistently they put out great songs.

-Michael Lifshitz-

generic pop songs? SUPER complex for sure. And don't even start with the 'they started the pyschedelic movement' bs, they didn't. at all.

I think it's difficult to capture 'The Beatles' in their entirety 50 years later.

In simple musical terms, overrated? I don't know, maybe (maybe not). To stop there would be stupid. It's easy to post about The Beatles being overratd on NS, because no one was at the center of the hype (and we take music history for granted).

If you want to find out (or just argue for fun), try posting somewhere like here to truly find the other side of the argument. They might rip you a new asshole, you might rip them a new asshole.

Personally, I couldn't care whether they were/are overrated or not.

the movement the beatles started is called boy bands. they paved the way for such incredible musicans as menuedo, n sync, and the backstreet boys.

and without the sarcasm I have to say new kids on the block knew what was up. hangin touch fer sure.

but you act like you know what your talkin about and lived back then, but really you weren't even a fetus when the beatles came to America.

patj

yeah and how old were you? you don't have to live through something to know about it. how can i 'act like i lived through it' all i am doing is posting my opinion on the internet. i wasn't even an embryo when the beatles were around, in fact my parents didn't even know eachother at the time.

and if you really disagree cool, i just stated my opinion and backed it up.

You can call the Beatles simplistic once you can do one of two things: Sing lead and play bass well, simultaneously (like Paul) or explain what Eleanor Rigby is actually about. And yeah, a lot of their stuff is way overrated. Not all of it, though.
