Ever wanted to design your own terrain park?

Well here's your chance. Due to the fact that our ski basin is a bunch of money grubbing bastards that don't see a market in 'extreme' snow sports, we've decided to take matters into our own hands. Technically off the ski basin and on National Forest property we've discovered the perfect area to build our own terrain park. We havn't been up there that much so far, so all we have so far is a 15 foot flat rail and a small jump. This is where you guys come in, if you were building your own terrain park in a large, semi-steep area which has 8-12 inches of snow so far, a number that will only get better when we actually have some real snowstorms, what would you put in? As a final note, keep in mind that we aren't that loaded, so any huge/crazy rail designs might be out of the question. With that said if you have any ideas at all, post them.

As soon as I head up there again ill get ya some pictures of the area.

for rails you guys should go down to home depo and get pvc pipe. super cheap and works well. also put in a 20 foot table top or a 35 foot. put in a quater pipe to there super fun if made right. you should also put in some banks. where are you guys at??

 
also heres an idea for a rope tow if any of you have any old motor cycles or engines or even old cars. take the wheel off and put the rope around it. then at the other en do the same thing except with no motor. just an idea.

 
so your building a terrain park with no grooming, snowmaking and 8 inches of snow. This sounds like a fairly bad idea. On a side note why are you asking people to tell you what to build when your the one riding it?

Your terrian park should consist of jumps, rails, hips, quarter pipe, Half pipe, Transfer Gaps, step downs, step ups.

We pay our debt sometimes.
 
i think all you need is some snow making and some ppl that know how to build jumps and maybe a kink rail or something like that

 
im not sure where but i saw online directions on building you own rope tow with a lawn mower engine i'll try to find it for you.

 
First of all this is 8 inches of snow as of now, and our ski basin hasnt even opened yet for lack of the white stuff. Secondly, runways and landings can be packed, and its not that much of a problem to spend an hour or so fixing up the kickers every time we head up. Besides, we dont have much of a choice, we can either build shit here for all to use, or try and go into our resort's bitching 100 square feet of backcountry and build it there for just us. And have no rails.

blue jay rails is to expensive unless you have a aboundent of cash to spend on this project. like i said pvc is cheap and will last a while.

yeah and i agree with any comments about pvc as i have both a metal and a pvc one for use in my backyard. the pvc one is a helluva lot more fun though as it slides like butter regardless of waxing/etc

good luck with that but i think your better off moving to a resort that does believe in extream snow sports. other wise invest in a mr.freeze snow making gun and a bobcat or snowcat then build some crazy sh*t

 
have a huge s rail to a 65ft table to a 10 ft tall whale tail to a 75ft booter to a down flat down then a 80 hip at the end with a huge wall stall at the very end

Go to a highschool metal shop and talk to a teacher about them making a rail for you guys as a class project. You'd probbaly just have to pay a small materials fee.
