Ever got caught lying?

So as horrible as lying is sometimes you just gotta do it, especially since I’m already going to hell.

Right now I’m living in Grand Cayman and everyone here has really thick Jamaican accents. Well one day I’m at the liquor store and this guy comes up to me and says something that I could not understand for the life of me. I ask him to repeat himself and by the third time I say what I tell him that I’m hard of hearing and ask him to speak louder. Then he just looks at me me and says “really” and even after he slows down and says it louder I still cannot make out what he’s saying.

My roommate then walks over to us and he asks her if I’m deaf and she turns and looks at me and says, “Her? No” and I swear to god I turned bright red, and that doesn’t happen to me because I’m black. Anyways lesson learned don’t ever tell someone you’re deaf when you aren’t.

I've had that happen where I won't understand someone. But I just kinda nod my head and say, "yeah", and then walk away.

Also, I've been to Grand Cayman. A bunch of kids ran out into the water to check out a shark that was chilling there at Seven Mile.

Or maybe I haven't and I'm lying.

The real question here is how have you been on this website for two years and only had six posts?

well, she does live in grand cayman. It's not exactly a skiing mecca.

Yurp. I was compusive liar my whole life until one day I realized that people were much smarter than I thought they were. Honesty is the only way to a healthy life.

If I cant understand someone I just reply with "maybe" and observe their reaction. 90% of the time it works because when it comes to bullshitting it's just all a filler conversation anyway

When I was 10, my best friend and I tried to convince my cousin(6 months older than me) that I was actually 6 months older than her. Our reasoning? I made our parents sleep for an entire year so I was actually born a year later.

I thought it was pretty clever at the time.

I ended up going to college less than 10 minutes from where I grew up, but I had to live on campus to be on any school athletics team. But my boyfriends mom would pick me up after working next door to bring me to their house to sleep over.

My mom is Hungarian Romani and hovering around 4’9 and she waited for me in the parking lot one morning to catch me in a lie right in front of the doors to my dorm and it was so bad. She hit me with a flashlight she had in the car and people made jokes about it forever.

I will I’ll say I totally deserved it though.
