European alps winter 2009 - Val d'isere?

Hi! Me and a friend is going to the alps this february this winter and we wonder where to go.

We've been looking on Val d'isere, and it looks like a nice place. We're mostly skiing park, but also powder if we can. Which place would you go to? How is Val d'isere?

go to austria, not france.
that being said, i've never been to europe. but there's just something about the french... you know?

If your not trying to do things super cheap check out Le 3 Valles is France, went there last Febuary and there was loads to ski and quite a few parks. There is basically 3 mountain ranges, Courchavel, Meribel and Val Thorens and you can get a pass that covers all 3. We tried to ski as much as possible and only managed to cover the inbounds stuff at Courchavel and Meribel. The parks are pretty fun and varied.

But there are plenty of places in Europe to go to Laax seems sick and I really wanna go there, they also have a sick hotel called Riders Palace which you can do on the cheap with some friends or get a cooler room with Xboxs and projectors in and stuff plus its in a sick resort with good nightlife from what I'v heard.

Isn't Val D'isere part of les trois valees?

I went there a few years back and that was the impression I was under

In any case - Val D'isere is SICK. Plus i heard the alps copped over 3 metres of snow in 48 hours a few days ago.

Val d'Isere is part of the Espace Killy, linked with Tignes. The 3 Valleys are Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens which are about 20/30 miles down the road from Val d'Isere.

Pretty much anywhere in the Alps is going to be ridiculous at the moment, they've had pretty much record breaking early season snowfalls. And yeah, as the dude above said, one storm which laid down about 3 metres!

Avoid 3 Vallees... Val d'Isere is A LOT better.

If you're mostly skiing park you're probably a lot better off going to Laax or Avoriaz.
