Eric Pollard Vs. Tanner Hall (compare and contrast)

so i'm writing a paper for school camparing and contrasting two things. so i chose to compare pollard and hall. i think it'll be a good paper since its two different people with different styles. if you have any input to help me out that would be greatly appreciated. anything from their style in the air, the type of riding, how far down their ass the pants pants are, etc... go crazy
 
pollard is a hippie=weed

hall is gangsta=weed

I contrasted them, but in the end, i brought them together.
 
if you have to fil up a bunch of pages you might want to pick a different topic. something there is a ton of readily avalible research on.
 
That sounds like a horrible thing to write a paper on. I doubt you teacher will even know who they are and what the difference between their styles are. Pick something else or you will get the fattest F you have ever seen.
 
Yeah, that paper would suck to write because remember you have to write for your aduience -- your teacher/class -- so theres probably a lot of explaination of the sport and style before you could even get to the real meat of the discussion.
 
but if you do all the background and fully get into the meat of it, it'll be a more impressive paper surely?
 
i ran the idea by her earlier today and explained that she probably wouldn't know who they are, but i'll put some background knowledge into it to help out which results in a fat A
 
Hall doesnt ski for fame buddy. At freshtival a couple years ago he wouldnt stop sessioning the little wallride at the bottom until they took it down he was having so much fun

Well by contrasting you could start with how tanner was really brought on by his Comp results and this blew him up, wheere as pollard was build almost purely on style and being different. Hall has always been on the forefront where, Pollard seems to be happy with what he is doing, no matter what it is. Tanner is really more of a mainstream skiier, not really for the fame but kinda, where as pollard is kinda just doing his own thing.

Both are huge on the freestyle ski SCENE tho. In my opinion Pollard could do all the stuff tanner does, he just chooses not too.
 
pollard is super chill and mellow as u can see by his super slow spins and he doesnt compete tanner is in ur face and trying to be gangster and wins ever contest they both have sick video parts and are both really pushing skiing
 
Tanner is trying to break into backcountry. Pollard is the supreme being of backcountry. Hall's style is like a baby taking its first steps compared to pollard. Pollard is the best, plus he designed the elizabeth, quite possibly the sickest ski ever

There is no fucking way that pollard can even come close to Hall in the park. And I really mean that, and it's not cuz' I think tanner is "super cool" or pollard being "chill". It's the simple fact that pollard can do some nice cork 3's and 5's but that's it as far as it comes too the park. the idiot who said "he chooses not to" do the things tanner does is a moron. He can't do a fakie cork 7 with a tweaked mutegrab. Tanner can. it's that simple

on the big mountain side of things I can agree with you, Eric is the better skier there. allthough claiming that tanner is a bad big mountain skier? what the fuck? he kicked ass in yearbook and session 1242! also he did some of the sickest BC jumps i have ever seen in TBC...

stop being so narrosly minded by their attitude and look at the facts.

oh yeah, and I'm pretty sure tanner skis because he loves it. don't we all?
 
Watch RFA, back to back super steezed sevens, styled out. But yes Pollard is no park skier, yet to compare tanner's BC prowess to Pollards way ahead
 
nice flow. the dude (as pointed out tons of times before and shan't be overlooked) seem to rock the safety grab to much though.

But now I don't want people ripping my skin screaming "don't hate on pollard you fucktard!" - and I'm not! I'm just describing what I see.... Safetys
 
well i dont see to much of pollard in the park he is mainly backcontry and tanner prefers park and pipes but also likes back country i think
 
if i were to go pro(not gonna happen) id rather be a eric pollard because e is laid back just for fun and back-country
 
yeah your right tanner is still good at backountry but i think eric is still better because it is what he does it is just tanners fun thing
 
if t hall was really in skiing for the fame money and glory, why is he in skiing? it's not that mainstream, it seems to me if that was all he wanted he would be a snowboarder at least (just because it's more mainstream, no offense to snowboarding). I think tanner's in it because he loves skiing. (not that he doesn't like the money). Does this make any sense? my point is sort of muddled but i hope someone gets it.

First Pollard is different, live with it.

Second Switch cork 7 mute? I personally know like 4 or 5 non pros that can do that. Pollard definitely can.

Third I have seen pollard do bio 9's to switch stomps and switch cork 7's just with a different style. His cork 3's are like WAY sicker then tanner's while we are at it. I mean you cannot go any further then pollard does period on COrk 3's.

Fourth: Tanner kicked ass in Big Mountain in Yearbook? Just no. You must be a park skiier, he can hardly link turns in the video, I bet that doesn't even give him justice its so bad.

One more thing: Tanner, Sammy, Charles, TJ, dUMONT, Bushfeild, uclair,Boronowski,Craig C, Pollard, Pep, Olenick, Rainville, Favre, Thovex.... Thats the just the beginning of peeps that can switch cork 7 solidly, all of them can switch cork 9 too, and probably all can switch 10,

How many of those skiiers can rip a big mountain WELL and drop sick 180's and switch tricks in their runs like 40 FT switch 3's mid big mountain on a windlip>? None of them except Fujas. So this is what back up my answer.

are you fucking seriously agreein with him? just because tanner has sponsors that hook him up big time doesnt mean he does it for the fame. Honestly that compairson is a little cliche man. Tanner loves to ski just as much as pollard.
 
tanner doesn't ski for the "fame", as a matter of fact i think no skiier really skis for "fame", they ski becasue its there life, i know i do.
 
Yeah he does a fakie cork 7 uncrossed mute last shot in Focussed. It not like that crazy of a trick anymore man. Tons of people do it. Our local comp last weekend was actually won with one.
