Epoxy vs. p-tex on topsheet

i have a few gashes on my chronics that are basically down to the wood....i was going to try and fill in them but should i use epoxy or would p-tex work too? i've used the search bar and i found nothin that was really helpful. any info would help
 
yea if there "core shots" which means there down to the core you need epoxy, ptex wont stick to wood it only sticks to itself
