Ep pros vs jjs

hmmm, i am not trying to put this in a a way that will put you down or anything, but you must not be really pushing it or havent skied a similar stiff ski. for me it is night and day going from the chopstick to the ep. on the ep i feel like i am going to die and am out of control going fast since you get bucked around so much and the ski will hook like crazy. then the same conditions like two hours later i can rip at 2x the speed on the chopstick and feel confident.

eiiiiither that, or you don't get as wet of snow as we get in WA which would make a huge difference. the crud i am talking about is super heavy and you get bounced around on whatever ski you are on, so if you are skiing lighter (utah or colorado) type snow then you should be a lot better off.

anyway, not at all a diss on you and how you ski, its just if you skied both back to back it is certainly a difference. i felt like the ep could carve like a slalom and i skied it after a half day on the karmas and they felt really sluggish, so it is all kinda based on what you are normally used to in those conditions.

The day i was on the eps in alaska I also rode my friend's chopsticks and vastly preferred the EPs. the chopsticks just seemed heavy and clunky in comparison. definitely a great ski, but not for my weight or style. I ride hard, and yeah, i would get bucked around a bit, but i never thought i was going out of control in any way that was worrisome. It was pretty gloppy towards the end of the day, for sure, and they arent crud busters by any stretch of the imagination but for how soft and forgiving they are, the EPs were surprisingly functional in crud. now, i am not a big guy, so that may have something to do with it as well, but for how hard I ride, the way I ski, and how heavy I am, EPs are just about the perfect ski. as with any ski you're going to give up performance in some area in order to gain performance in another; it is all about how those gains and losses balance out and how, you, the rider, choose which shortcomings you are willing to deal with in exchange for the positives of the ski.

^but can you name any similarish ski that would do worse in that condition? Just saying, and there isn't really any stiffness underfoot like you said a bit up, they're noodle throughout. Just cause it's doable doesn't mean they are good at it.

right on man, fair enough. yeah i mean honestly riding style is about 90% of what could make that ski fun or not. glad you were stoked on them, but yeah again i hope it didn't come across as me saying you dont ski hard or whatever..... anyway, yeah they are a super fun ski in the right conditions

yeah man not at all knew what you were saying. but yeah, both JJs and EPs are great skis, it just depends howyou wanna ride

yeah for sure if i was actually good at doing butters and jib type stuff i would love it.... but i dont have the balls to throw tricks and stuff so i just try to ski fast haha.

On the NS sia update it says that they are going to be 10%-15% stiffer which is a dream come true, but someone on here told me that line said that about the 08/09 to this years model and i guess they didnt change the stiffness. I hope they make them a little stiffer cause im 6'5 and i dont think the 09/10 models would suit me very well, but we will have to wait and see

i skied them at a demo day, and asked the rep if they were stiffer this year and he said they were exactly the same as this years. if they were stiffer i definitely did not notice a change from the ones i got this year.
