So, im thinking im going to attend Montana State University next year, and i need a new pair of pow skiis to shred while im there....

So NS, should i get Line's EP Pro's, or K2 Hellbents?

I want to buy brand new, at the end of this season for cheapest pricing. also, some binding sugestions would be nice. Im thinkin jesters, but not to sure.

Neither... go with some ON3P Wrenagades. Or possibly the new prototype they are making(it's a secret). You will want a stiffer ski if you are shredding Montana over a floppy heavy hellbent. Ep pros are straight up not charging skis.

I've skied both, and own a pair of EPs. As said above, EPs are not a hard-charging ski. They're incredibly fun for bouncing through any kind of snow, but don't hold up well at high speeds or on super steeps. The Hellbents are quite a bit stiffer (though still on the very floppy end of the spectrum) and perform better at speed.

Super 7 or wrens. If you're a big dude get the 195's but if you're small get the 188 super 7. Seriously the 195 super 7 might be the greatest ski ever made. If only it were more durable and lighter....

the 189 hellbents are a hundered times stiffer then the 179's and will be so much better for charging.

Get volkl chopsticks, they are way stiffer than the ep's and charge really well on steep stuff, I took em o Montana last year and wee amazing

my vote would be to go for the atomic bent chetlers, jjs, on3p caylors...or if you really want to go for line then get bacons over the ep.pros. a lot more versitle and still provide plenty of float

Personally I think the new hellbents are too big. The new seth is a perfect sized powder ski. Unless you're skiing monashee powder cats everyday you don't need that big of a ski. Thats why I think the old hellbent (almost the same thing as the new seth) is way better than the new one.

Speaking of which I have a pair of 09 bents with griffons that I am getting rid of in a month or two I could probably get them to you pretty cheap, whole set up 400?

If you want skis for solely pow then you will probably like both. I own EPPs and they are ridiculously soft but when you're in powder they're quite fun. Personally I feel that EPPs are too soft and if you truly want a powder specific ski you should get something like Moment Donner Partys or Praxis Powder Boards. I own the Donner Party and they are super fun in new snow without being floppy donkey dicks and are still super fun and allow you to make effortless turns in pow.

FYI, these wont be my only skiis, i currently have last years K2 Kung Fuja's that i use for both powder and park, but i kinda wana sell em and buy a new pair specifically for park and another pair for pow. So im not really looking for a universal ski, just one for the Pow.

JJ's or bacons. Both are a little bit more of an all mountain ski so they can tackle just about anything on a pow day. Both also have very nice flex IMO cus EP's and bents are just too noodly, but that's opinionated I guess

Don't mean to thread jack..but my SFB's are getting a little beat up. Are the night trains a good choice over the bents? Im looking for a harder charging ski to drop cliffs and go fast with

yea i know, their much bigger and heavier then a traditional touring set up. but im willing to deal with a little extra weight.

I ski at The Canyons and my buddy uses the Hellbents he is gonna ditch them because they are just too fat for resort skiing. Once things get cut up or in mixed snow conditions the Hellbents just become a little too much.

I'd defintely get the Obsethed's or Rossi s7 / super 7

you COULD go for the older hellbents, which are 1 cm skinnier throughout and just as good in powder. or do what I said earlier and get bent chetlers.

S7's are stiff directional skis, why would you suggest this to someone looking at EP Pro's and Hellbents?

If you're going on a long tour Dukes suck some dick. Seriously why can't we get a good choice for an AT binding.

I've never skied the Ep's, but I have used Hellbents and personally didn't like them, they just felt like to much work and it was kind of difficult to do any quick turns in any trees. Another ski I would suggest you take a look at is the Obsethed, it's about 118 underfoot I think and was super fun, I thought it skied way better than the Hellbent in trees and it was really fun on the groomers, I was even hitting park jumps on them at the end of the day. Definitley a fun ski, I suggest you try them out or ad them to your list of possible skis

Definitely the Moment Bibby Pro. Or the Lib Tech Pow NAS. Both very good skis for what you are looking for. I would also recommend the Blizzard Answer, because it is also stiff and has that sliding system so you could mount it center and then slide it back for pow. Plus you can also switch out bindings out on the Blizzards very easily
