I'm here now and I speak english. As people said most young people speak basic english.

But saying that you're going to a German speaking country, at least learn the basics it will really make a difference. Even very very broken german is a lot better than no german at all.

studying in salzburg....and i started from ZERO german...but its soooooo difficult for me...

You'll be fine with English as long as you don't talk to some guy who's lived in one valley his whole life.
