Before u roast, it's grade 10 English I handed in like 1 thing..

Ok so my in class mark is worth 70%, my ISU is worth 15% and my exam is worth 15%.

My friends think it works by average... But wouldn't it work like this:

56%(my mark) of 70

75%(my ISU mark) of 15

X% of 15

Add those up and it's my final mark?

I'm just trying to figure out what I need on the exam to pass...

maybe focus more on studying for your exam then trying to figure out the bare minimum you need to pass..

My exam is just writing an essay, I'm fine with writing.

0.6=0.56*0.7+0.75*0.15+x*0.15

solve for x, assuming 60% is passing

You need a 64% to pass and the highest you could get in the class if you got a perfect would be a 65.4% (D)

Talk to your teacher it is English not Math and even if it was a Math class there is a chance your meeting will give you a chance to bump up your score. There is often a human element to the grading process that they don't disclose in the syllabus.
