Emos, goths, metals, all you people i have a question!!

wtf? so in conclusion everyone hates on everyone else because of how they dress..... it pisses me off when kids complain about other kids dissing on them for the way they act and dress, but really they do the same fucking thing. im not emo or metal, or goth, or gangster, and i think kids that consider themselves to be in those catagories and just label themselves are just the stereotypical follower and are missing the point of why people do what the do

I'm 5'10 145 lbs. and I rock XL-XXL Oakley tees and other stuff that is the same size. As far as pants I only wear shorts, board shorts and cargo'ish shorts that I sag below my ass. It's mad comfortable and I think it looks cool. I just wear what I want so whatever. I think a emo, metal, goth, punk, skater, extreme wigger, tight shirts don't look cool but whatever, I have friend that wear that stuff and I don't care, they don't judge me and I don't judge them. As far as judging people by what they wear it works a lot of the time. Usually people are friends with people of similar taste and that includes clothing, obviously there are execptions, I have plenty but in general if I was in a class and sat next to a goth kid and a kid who dressed like me I would talk to the kid who dressed similar to me first.
 
o man, you got me wrong, around were i live people define themselves as metal, a style and act. I listen to metal, not lots of it but some good stuff.

i'm 100% sure that i listen to what you would consider emo (say anything, the early november, brand new, fall out boy, ect.) and i have plenty of friends who listen to metal, hardcore, and thrash. it's pretty evident to anyone who is an open minded, respectful person that the music you listen to doesn't define you. maybe if you saw past that, you'd realize that people who listen to "emo" (which is bullshit, you're speaking more of a pop-punk/post-punk genre) aren't all cutting, straight-edge, myspace whores.

The clothes doesn't really bother me, they probably think what I wear is hideous. But I feel like everyone is cutting themself, having some eating disorder or being gay. And not because their lives are terrible, or they like the other sex. I feel like sooo many people do it because of the whole emo/reeeally tight pants movement.

Even though I wasn't a teenager 5 years ago, I feel like there wasn't as much of that stuff as there is now. especially the cutting thing.

I totally respect gay people, but this kid at my school went from being straight to gay to bi and back to straight again in like two months and made out with all of his friends. that just annoys me
 
your question sounds like a problem for people in the age group of 13-19.

It just cracks me up that people put themselves in catergories saying "I'm "emo" "i'm "goth". They could just say nothing, dress however the fuck they want, and not give a shit what people think, instead of announcing their stereotype. They just want attention, whether its positive of negative attention.

This thread is retarded. When I was in high school I was way into metal. I wore black t-shirts with tight black jeans, had long blonde hair and whatever. I wasn't a nerd and sat in the corner, though. I knew everyone in school, and everyone knew me. Hell, I almost won prom king. I felt that the way I dressed was a reflection of my musical taste, skating, and surfing at the time. But really, who the fuck cares? Let people do what they want. You may not like spiders, but without them the world would be overrun with flies.
 
exactly...i thought i would never like metal then once i actually gave it a chance and now i like it.

haha dude i know the kid who made this and hes like as normal as you can get when it comes to clothes..... he just wears jeans and a sweatshirt and a dirtbike hat like every day.... no gothic stuff, no tall tees, or any of that
