Emergency Ski Repair Question

Hey everyone

I just split open the sidewall of my skis. There is a gap between my edge and I need to epoxy it together because I leave for Colorado tomorrow. Can anyone recommend the best epoxy to repair this? Cure time shouldn't be a problem for me I don't ski for a few days. Thanks.

Look for an epoxy that binds thermosets (like the resin your skis are glued together with), thermoplastics (base material, ABS/UHMWPE sidewalls) and metal (your edges). A popular one is G-flex but I've had great luck using whatever I can find designed to bond well to the above materials, JB-Weld plastic bonder is at lots of hardware stores for example.

Arguably more important is to make sure you prep it well: make sure its dry, clean, warm, and if you can wedge in a little sand paper to rough up both surfaces prior that can help a ton.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the help guys. I couldn't find G Flex in stores near me but researched a little more and found marine-grade epoxy works well with skis (questionable at first but ig it makes sense). The damage is to the underfoot so I'm not too concerned about flexing issues, the cure time was much quicker as well.

^^ This is the result after applying and clamping it overnight. Not the prettiest job, definitely need to sand it down but should get the job done.
