Embeded videos and the search bar

To the computer savvy people out there:

Is it possible to modify a search engine to look for embedded videos within the forums here on NS? I'm no coder so i'm not sure if this is possible but I thought if it was, it would be super handy to have.

Example: The recent bmx/trials video with Danny macskill has been posted numerous times on here and every extra time its posted, people cry either "searchbar noob" or "ZOMG repost!". Now most people on here can't seem to make threads with appropriate titles so videos like this get posted numerous times because searching "danny macskill" doesn't bring up any of the 100's of threads it was posted in (save the one JD made).

Most videos have one place they are always linked to (youtube, vimeo, NS, etc). I was thinking that it would be sweet if users could copy and paste the website link for a video into the searchbar here and have it show every instance where that video was embedded.

Make sense? Possible?

The best solution would be to do a duplicates search when the video is embedded. Someone posts a link to the video, NS does a database query to check for duplicate links, and notifies the user that the video has already been posted.

You probably won't see many duplicate videos after embedding from non-NS sites is gone.
 
Foreign embeds are only being disable in our video section. you will still be able to make foreign embeds (like youtube/vimeo) in the forums.
 
I should've paid attention when this was explained to me:) My thing above still stands.

As for Googling on embedded videos, Google searches the rendered HTML. It doesn't do a duplicate search on video URLs unless there's an explicit text description below the video. This is as far as I know.
