so ive been a life fan of elliot smith, he is god. i just dont understand why he isnt appreciated as he should be

all you elliot fans im sure you understand...i dunno he was wonderful, check him out.

 
yeah i agree. i think hes one of the best singer songwriters of the last decade or two. I dont know if you saw it or not but there was a tribute to him in Spin this winter. It said how he was very private and hated when people he didnt know recognized him in public and complimented him on his music. I dont really think he wanted to be outrageously famous.

 
I d/l'd the Basement on the hill album, it's super great, can't wait to buy it...

elliott smith is soooo good, my uncle used to go to all of his shows up in portland, his music seems sort of depressing, i sure it wouldn't be if he was still alive though

I'm completely with you on this one... my personal favourite is Between the Bars. Waltz #2 is also really good. I have about 60-70 of his songs DLed, and almost all are awesome... I'd buy the CDs, but I figure he doesn't really need the money, you know?

Try to get some of his covers off Limewire or whatever... Lennon's Jealous Guy and Harvest Moon (Neil Young) are really good.

Two of his cds are in my cd cycle in my car. My favorite is Either Or, and I have his self titled which has my favorite song southern belle.
