I think that most people spouting shit in this thread didn't watch the event. The two tricks that Elias won with were actually probably the most stylish ones that were thrown. I will admit i'm not always a fan of his style but he killed it in this competition.

I've posted this in a previous thread but it suits this one as well. So here it is again a bit edited:
Contest are for technical and innovative tricks. It was ALWAYS designed
like that and that was the case in every sports.Same goes for skiing.
And mind you, there are actually people who enjoy watching skier pushing
the sports in the technical way.
You want style? You have 10 15 movies coming out every fall with this in
focus (stept and 4bi9 for example). That's your thing, good for you but
please let us enjoy our way of skiing entertainment. I for one, I enjoy
watching Russ or Elias stomping tripples in comps or Bobby Brown
throwing a never seen before double misty 14.
Seriously, stop being fucking narrow minded and think for a while of the
majority of people watching espn when xgames are on; I can bet most of
them have no clue who Harlaut or Candide are. They want excitement and
entertainment and a switch 9 won't cut it anymore. There is a reason
Dumont won with a double front.
At the end of it, freesking had "free" in it for a reason, everybody do
their thing and everybody will find his part of enjoyment. Stop thinking
your judgment is better than anyone else.
ps1: and I'm not even talking about the difficulty of judging style. Who
are you to say Wallisch has a better style than Hatveit for example? As
far as I know, they both usually land as clean as it get and they both
held their grab as long as it is physically possible. The only
difference is their clothes sizing. (I generalize a bit but you see my
point)

it's a city big air based on 2 diferrents jump but not on style
when i'm saying not on style it's kinda a mistake cause to win a comp a comp you need to be technical and style! but in this comp it's different they have the name of king of style but it's all about having the best tech dub with some sort of style
so stop hating on the comp cause every year it's the same thing hating cause of the name of the comp!!!

ok obviously we have an issue here. there are people getting so defensive when other people share their opinion by saying that this contest is bullshit because it doesnt have anything to do with style. and you know what i think it is fucking true. its rediculous that you have such a generic skiier such as bobby brown who podiums in every fucking contest. give me a break. both edollo and bdog get fucked over in the xgames because they "way" they ski isnt what the jugdes are looking for. fine. that kind of contest is obviously for people like bobby brown and ambuhl. however, this contest should be for the henricks, the casabons, the vilas, the hornbecks, etc. honestly you guys are complaining that every year people bitch about it. fuck you, if there is controversy every year that is a sign that a change is needed in this contest.

THIS, fucking thankyou. i watched the video and all i saw was some hucked shit with grabs, nice dub corks but i wasnt seeing any variation in style. THIS CONTEST IS BULLLLSSHIITTTT
