Elevator Kool Wahh

Has anybody here sent the Elevator at Btown? I have been eyeing it for years and finally feel somewhat ready to giver a go and tomahawk to my death. Anybody got beta/tips on what to expect? I mean I know the main thing is the drop above the Milly Bowl but shit always looks and rides different when you're right on top of it. Can the choke point be skied through when the snowpack is good or is it always a mandatory air? Roughly how many tomahawks is it from the choke point until I ragdoll to a full stop?

If its open tomorrow I might try skiing it! I'll let you know if I do!

Hell yeah please do! My buddy went to scope it today. Possible send this week, we'll see. If I puss out you guys can roast me for it.

I think it’s a climbing term for “best available route”

Beta is just like any inside info on how to do something. In climbing it usually means the moves you might do on a route. Applies to anything remotely technical really.

doable for sure, I didn't ride it, definitely a big no fall zone entering the main thing, but can definitely ski out of it without taking any air.

Update on Elevator Chute:

Decided to go for it today after taking a lap under the apron and scoping it out. The snow was hardpack and a little bony, but thinking positively I just took that to mean the obstacles were more visible and sliding wasn't really a possibility.

honest to god it was gnarly as hell. The gnarliest shit I've done, including the Big Couloir at Big Sky and the main chute off the tram at Basin. The choke point was probably only 3' across and I had to do some Killian Jornet "dry skiing" shit to sidestep through. The cliff band you can see there is more like a bunch of boulders, not very straightforward. On a pow day you could probably air it into the bowl but you would have to pick your line very carefully.

Anyway, under the choke was fucking money though, probably the best snow on the mountain right now. I don't have a gopro mount so no ski footy (it wouldn't have been that pretty anyway) but I did snap some pics in the choke point.

I LIVED BITCH

For anybody else looking for beta, there is a handline attached to a tree right above the choke that may or may not be trustworthy. There's also a lot of veg right around the choke. It was too tight for jump turns, so I was able to grab onto a little tree while I got my skis turned around. Also notable that there are some good terrain anchors you can count on above the hourglass. Lots of rock and big trees.

Anyway that's it. Thanks for not killing me Milly ily
