Electronica Help?

Alright so I have been getting into electronica lately. I kindof wanna start a bandish group (deadmau5, daft punk, ratatat, ect) but have no idea how to record it. I have a pc and a ipod touch (if any apps help) Are there any free or cheap programms that can help. I have a keyboard and musical knowledge, i just need to know how to record it and mash different parts together to make a song. Thanks!
 
there isnt anything good for free but if you know how to use torrents you're golden. reason 4, ableton, fruity loops, etc. I highly recommend reason. The thor and malstrom synths are beast. Also, call it electro. And searchbar the daily electro thread for inspiration
