Elder Scrolls Online

I have to say I'm a little disappointed with what's been released about ESO so far. It seems like an upgraded WoW. The gameplay and combat look like a step back from what was in Skyrim.

Thoughts?

I understand all the hype about it, but I'm really not stoked for it. I think the biggest issue is that it won't really feel like and ES game. The cartoon graphics are totally different (I understand that they are nessecary to support all they players, but it will make it seem unlike a ES game.) It will be cool, but I'd much rather a High Rock game or something

Just go on the wikia and look at some of the mechanics/features. You can easily tell that ES:O brings nothing new to the MMO industry. Its gonna be another flop

I wish they were making a new regular elder scrolls :(

Skyrim was the best game i have ever played

An upgraded version of WoW? In that video they describe the combat mechanics as vastly different from WoW. They have kept as many of the Elder Scrolls combat mechanics(crouching, sprinting, blocking, attacking/power attack) as possible in an MMO. WoW does not have any of those mechanics, In most MMOs you are selecting learned skills from your Skill Bar. On top of that I like where they are taking the Social aspect of the game and how they have also eliminated Server selection(shards). Bethesda always does a great job with their games.

Someone also said they will bring nothing new to the MMO table. Besides the few things I just mentioned and the things I didn't, how about one of the largest and most comprehensive fantasy worlds conceived to date.

Not to mention you can choose the path of your character after creation Even though you have to choose a class, that class can spec into other skill trees and even wear and wield things that would be otherwise arcane to your class. Just like in other Elder Scrolls games.

Bethesda puts so much work in the little details of their games and it's why they have been number 1 in the RPG world for more than 20 years. They always bring good story telling, comprehensive combat systems, excellent character creation and depth, interesting themes, and all around good game mechanics. I'm pretty exciting, obviously things have to change to be a smooth MMO but I trust Bethesda to do a good job.

I'm busy today so you guys don't get the full brunt of my nerd rage but, don't go bashing Elder Scrolls, or anything for that matter, if you don't actually know some of what you are talking about. Look at my username, I will fucking destroy you.

I'll see you faggots in Tamriel.

The last closed beta test is this weekend, entire game is opened up and we get to try the Imperial race and all that jazz. Pretty excited to play the finished product for free.

i was a beta tester for eso. its nothing more than a dumb downed online skyrim. dont waste your money, i can see free-to-play in its future.

Bumping this thread to give an update that this guy pretty much predicted the future; ESO as of today is (kind of) free to play IF you bought the game. If you haven't bought it then you still have to pay the $60 or whatever it is, but that's it. No more monthly subscription.
