Been riding these for a couple of weeks now and they're dope. Quite playful and has a fuck ton of pop. Definitely a ski to keep your eye on next year. Gotta put some more miles on em before i write up a review but I'm super excited about these.

sick to see that sort of ski from elan. very jelly of any shop workers waltzing about on the pink and white. any idea if there’s a narrower one as well? could be a cool wide park ski

They come in a 91 waist too but I don't know much about em

Always heard good things about the Ripstick, kinda surprising this is their first proper twin tip. Considering they've already branched out into the weird "innovation" of folding skis. Looks like it could shape up to be a good resort single-quiver ski.

they've made plenty of twins in the past they just weren't super noteworthy

Also if you're in Whistler and want to try em just hit me up. They're mounted for a 303mm bsl

Tested both of these last weekend. 180cm models felt pretty surfy and really soft. 91s were close to Line Blends and 101 were little bit stiffer but still soft. I can see these to be nice for jibbing and rails but for jumps i prefer stiffer skis. 180cm model defenetly didnt feel like 180cm, compared to K2 at 179cm or 180cm that is "true" 180 so keep that in mind if you are planning on grabbing a pair.

Elan is a great ski builder with some interesting tech. They have a lot of good skis. The whole brand is just a bit odd imo.. The colors, the graphics etc.

So basically these lasted 1 week in the park before blowing out the sidewall and delaming. Could just be because they were a sample pair..? But I really hope they make these a bit more durable. Super fun but god damn they didn’t last long

-1.5cm is what I would be doing if I had one

Mounted them at -1 and it was the move

-1 from true center. So 89cm from the tail on a 180cm

Awesome, they just came in today. Still not sure what binding im even gonna put on it. I think i saw a review u did on SkiEssentials based off the pic you posted. Anything else i should know about this bad boy? i think im gonna stay off rails with it..

I'm using them to tour now because ive been them up pretty good, but i don't want to put them away because they are a lot of fun. I have noticed they've lost a bit of their shape, but i probably had an early production model so who knows. Have fun bro!

I really don’t care

I’m not buying skis from a boat company

God, you're dumb. They've been making skis for like 80 years. Skis aren't nearly has hard to make as yachts. That's like saying if a 3 star Michelin chef quits fine dining and starts making bomb ass street tacos and you'd be like "nah, I'm not buying tacos from that guy".

Elan XCS 1993

"As the first successful "shaped" or "parabolic" ski, the SCX is considered one of the most important advances in the history of the sport"

"Elan SCX changed the world ski industry by inventing sidecut skis, which made carve turns possible at low speeds and with a short turn radius."

"By 1996 every major ski company was racing to introduce similar designs, and traditional designs were being sold off for pennies on the dollar."

For real. What's more core than making skis to defeat the Nazis?

Yo sorry to bug u again, but I’m lookin at -1 from the tail which is 89cm, and it looks kinda pushed too forwards?

Def got that same feeling at first. The reco line on the sidewall feels really far back.

Not hitting rails, just freeride and jumping off shit. -1 the move still?

maybe do -3 from center and they will ride way better. Have mine setup for touring at -3 and its really nice

Glad I asked, I been looking online and we’re the only ones discussing mounting points lol

Shut the fuck up boomer

Anyone have any further updates on these?? Found a good deal on them. Looking for a ski that can handle rope tow park laps and also take out west. I saw a comment on a former thread saying the durability wasn’t too good. Anyone have any input on the durability??? Thanks.

everyone i’ve spoken to has loved them, some being diehard elan haters before skiing the playmaker. Wouldn’t think the durability would be any different to any other skis at the same price range, if anything they feel very solid with proper

beefiness along the edge.

If you're doing rope tow park laps, just buy a used pair of beater park skis and keep your good skis fresh for your trip west.
