Elan boomerang, sfb or s3.

so im looking at new skis and i was hoping for some help from you guys. i search barred and got a little info but nothing on the elans. im looking for a killer all around ski. Steeps trees park... all of that. im 6'4" 220 and i ski aggressively. any help will be appreciated and any other ski suggestions would be great too. Thanks

For someone 6'4 and 220lbs, you'll overpower a S3 or SFB. I have the S3 in a 186 and it skis super short. My wife has the 182 SFB's. I hand flexed the Boomerang and it is a lot stiffer than both and a little stiffer than the Benchetler's that my wife also has. I haven't skied the Boomerangs though so I can't give you any feedback, but the dimensions are similar to the Bentchetler's and my wife loves those.

at first i would have said s3's for sure, but youre way to big/tall. i demoed the boomerang today and its a beast of a ski. i had a bit of trouble in really tight trees because it has almost no turning radius and huge powerful tips, but the ski really shined one you got out into some open pow and let them rip.

the boomerangs are deff the ski for you

Boomerangs were so great but pretty heavy(had demo bindings, but still..). in pow you can ski the tightest areas if you want, and honestly, for just turning and such, might have been my favorite pow ski(I've been on bents, chetlers, One Lifes(I own them), boomerangs, 202 lotus 138s(also own), coombas(sold before this season), wrenegades, SFBs(DONT GET), and a handfull of others..). They were great, the only area I would fear a little is park(don't mount forward of reco. at all), since they are a bit heavy and mounted back a bit.

Wrenegades could be another good choice, but they lack the perfectly done taper of the boomerangs, which is what I loved so much about them. I think wrens were a 191 too, and would be better in park.

new ski has been added to the potential buy list... any one have info on the line blend? is it too soft like ive been told the sfb is? thanks guys

i love next years blends. Now that they have early rise they are gonna be alot of fun in soft snow. I didnt really like then on hardpack though, they were way too loose.

You're too big, and they're really not very fun.

I tried some Lotus 120s yesterday, and it may sound wierd but those could be a good choice. They were really stable on groomers and can nose butter smoothly and easily, and ski pow and crud great. Also, they're the lightest of all skis like them. Less hooky and lighter than boomerangs, but a similar shape(that has been around way longer than boomerangs, and the sidecut has stayed the same but the rocker and build have changed). That was the 190 length, which will feel on the shorter side for you(and did for me coming off of 202 lotus 138s) but would be a good choice.
