Editing under different light

What do you guys do while editing when you have different lighting from different clips taken throughout the year? Do you just find a logical "transition" like a b roll shot, or just jump right in?

Thanks NS

Not much to say about the editing portion rather than the filming portion. Try to film all your footy throughout the season on sunny days or cloudy days. Keeping them as similar as possible would most likely help your situation. In the meantime, maybe you could try throwing the lowlight shots in the beginning or end? Maybe try keeping all the similarly lit shots in a sequence so it is only one transition instead of many. Hope this could help!

Good plan, I will keep that in mind for future edits. And as far as grouping them, I will do that. Thanks!

I agree with the sequences but If possible at all ist best to get 100% of your shots on sunny days. Its the best contrast, saturation, etc. Ik it can be hard tho with weather

The point of b roll and fillers is to actually progress the story you're showing, as in showing the pre cursor to a new event, or easing the transition between locations and days, so yes totally do what they said group and organize, cloudy days are a bitch to keep highlights there but the softbox effect gives you alot more room to post process without harshening the tones too much
