Editing GoPro footage

Hello,

Im editing with a macbook at the moment and it doesnt look like i'll be getting a pro or an imac for quite some time.

Made a couple of summer editis using imovie9 and imovie HD but its very limited so i got hold of a cpoy of final cut express. Doesnt seem to work very well on the macbook so my question is could I use imovie for the majority of editing work then compress the movie and import to final cut for colour correction and a few more advanced effects?

Or would it be better to struggle through the slow work through running final cut without a scratch disk on an under powered laptop?

Any opinions welcome cept trolls.

 
Is it worth it to you to have to export your edit twice?

Remember, once you export your video you lose all ability to move stuff around and change transitions. If you realized you wanted to change something, you'd be fucked and pretty much have to start all over.
 
sack up and buy/download some real software. your setup clearly isnt cutting it. now that I think about it, ts probably just your mac...
