Edges popping out

So I figured I should make this now since my season is about to begin. The last two years I have had to replace my skis because the edges around the tips have popped out. I was just wondering if anyone had any insight to prevent this from happening or what I am doing that is causing the problem.

I don't have any advice to make sure it doesn't happen, but I can tell you that ski shops can easily fix the problem. The pair I'm currently riding had this same problem, my local shop fixed them, and they've been holding up ever since. This also happened to two old pairs I had, and I just continued to ride with the edges popped out and it didn't seem to affect me.

Honestly, the only sure fire way i know of to keep edges from ripping out, is too not ski.

But the real, a good thing is to watch where you ski, sharp rocks and rip those suckers out real quick.

I'm liking your posts ^ and I agree

also, buy skis with a 3/4 edge wrap and not a full edge wrap. The 3/4s prevents your tips and tails from completely blowing up and delamming when smashing them on something. i hadn't really been a believer of the 3/4s wrap, but recently I just blew up my tails and I would hate to imagine what would have happened if I had a full edge wrap.

IMO full edge rap is not bad. iv seen a few 3/4 rap ski get easily damage tips and edges in scenarios that id expect a ski to hold up in, iv also seen a bunch of 3/4 rap skis hold up so i wont say they suck. all im saying is that if 3/4 rap so much more durable then why would't all ski companies use less edge, save money, make a ski lighter and make the ski more durable? a well made ski will always be a well made ski. 3/4 edge rap may help in reducing delamming when stomping big landings but i feel like they leave the ski venerable when hitting jib features. i could be wrong tho
