Edge repair

had a foot of edge rip off the rail of a ski landing switch. it didn't break at all, just came off from the seam at the tail and bent.

Has anyone successfully glued an edge back onto a ski? And if so what type of adhesive? epoxy maybe?

1. Sand out the groove where the edge was so there's a bit more space.

2. Make sure the groove is nice and clean.

3. Get a solid epoxy that isn't fast setting (fast set doesn't hold as well).

4. Fill the groove with epoxy.

5. Get the edge back into the groove and hold in place with clamps for 24 hours.

6. Afterwards scrape off any excess epoxy and get it all off of your edges.

You can try epoxy but chances are it will pop out again especially since they popped out of the tail and the edges are springy. I had a few inches pop outa my tail and it would just keep coming out no matter how I tried to fix it so in the end I used a dremmel tool to cut out that section and just filled the gap with epoxy

if its too bad then ^ that is what I would do. I have seen some techs that were pretty good at it completely fill the space with epoxy and create an expoxy edge that was somewhat useable.
